New Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag Trailer: The Golden Age of Piracy

Every Assassin’s Creed game is based in an actual historical setting, with a sense of place and time that provides the backdrop to amazing adventure fraught with peril and political intrigue. The setting for Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag is no different! Contrary to popular belief, pirates didn’t suddenly decide to become a scourge of the seas out of the clear blue sky. (Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

I love these smaller trailers Ubi-soft release to set the mood for the game.

We will get another trailer in about a month during E3. I hope it shows how the Assassins's play into the era.

Roronoa F-ing Zoro is a better choice.

I thought I was finally going to escape this series after AC3, but NO! Ubisoft had to go and add Pirates. GAWD DAMMIT. xD

Say whatever you want about AC games, but you can't deny how awesome the trailers are.

Agreed. I just pray to God they got rid of the monotony that plauged the series lately. In AC3 the game was so boring aside from the frontier. Make combat harder, stealth play a big part and great set pieces and my faith will be restored and I will gladly fork over 60 bones. Arg.

Stealth hasn't been a big part of AC since the first game... and that's a shame. The second game felt new and innovative, but now each one just seems to be repeating the one before it. I hope that with this new one, they experiment with new ideas, rather than just releasing AC3: More Boats.

Can't agree with you guys. I think Assassin's Creed 3 is the best in the series. The combat and freerunning is much improved, I liked the setting and narrative better, being able to explore and interact with the large natural settings was amazing, and the gameplay variety was great.

I honestly don't understand where you guys are coming from. It's like you played a different game than me.

Commentary in that trailer is awesome, cant wait.

I really hope they keep to the pirate way of life, though..
Attacking random ships for money, taking ships to sell, hiring crew members.
Pillaging settlements, keeps, taking over a pirate haven of your choosing.
Having crew members who have different stats and personalities.
Chances of mutiny and requiring you to keep your crew happy.

Things like that; of course, all aside with the main story line of Assassins Creed.

I skipped AC3 so it makes me want 4 even more. Even more so when I get a PS4.

A pirate setting is cool and all but the franchise has turned into a joke.

imo Assasins creed has been the best new ip this gen. Really hope other developers would make more games set up in the ancient or medieval era. Rome, Greece and so many other great empires and civilizations

It seems there was some next gen footage in there,
Which looked pretty good. We'll see what this really looks like at Sony's Press Con this year, Its sure to be at Presented there.

I've become a huge AC fan and really could care less how many more games they have planned. These are periods that you do not see in gaming frequently.

I think if they didn't spend so much time on the storyline for AC2, AC:B and AC:R then people wouldn't have even said that.

There is a lot more they can do frankly...
