Blistered Thumbs: Defiance review

I have been interested in Defiance for a variety of reasons ever since it was first announced. For one, I appreciate the idea of a futuristic sci-fi series set after a near apocalyptic event that for once seemed prepared to be about more than just empty bleakness and hopelessness. The nihilistic zombie apocalypse and/or The Road-esque end of humanity setup has become incredibly overused in pop culture in recent years in my opinion and Defiance looked to be a perfect counterpoint to it. It posited a world where humanity has suffered its fair share of tragedy and destruction, but also has pulled together in order to achieve better than just survival at any cost. (Defiance, PC, PS3, Xbox 360) 8/10
