Wii U: What could it be, and why it should have been called Wii 2

The look of a hardcore gamer on the Nintendo console. Being Mass Effect, GTA, Alan Wake, Dark Souls, Assassin's Creed and some of my favorite titles, I could label me myself as a "hadcore Gamer" and "atheist consoles". From this cursory description, I tried to ask why I have no "curiosity" for a Wii U, like I did with the successful Wii.

So: What is the purpose of this column? A very personal vision than I would have liked to see on the Nintendo console. It is not "criticize" Nintendo as if the owner of the truth. If so, would be designing consoles, and writing opinion. I am simply a consumer more. (Nintendo, Nintendo, Wii U)

Nintendo had a chance for redemption but being the cheap stakes that they are and having that mentality that Mario, Pokemon and Zelda can keep a console alive is why they are in this predicament.

Its going to be weird seeing Mario and Zelda on my 720 and PS4 but I will get use to it just like I did with Sonic.

Yeah, sure, 1 commercial failure, and the most famous of all video game companies stops making consoles.

And we can't even call the Wii U a commercial failure yet, not until it definitely flops and gets prematurely retired from the market like the Virtual Boy was (the ONLY true console flop in the entirety of Nintendo's history, BTW, and they survived it just fine).

The Wii U hasn't even seen the release of Mario Kart, 3D Mario, Metroid, Zelda, Mario Party, Wii Fit U, etc etc etc, and people are already labeling it a failure. Give me a break. It's in bad shape, but it isn't out of the fight yet, I'd say it's barely starting.

Keep dreaming.

You know what I would like to see? A Mass Effect clone on Wii U using Nintendo characters.

I'd prefer...
''Wii Nu''

At least it would make it easier for the retards to be able to identify it as a new console which isnt difficult to do at all especially with all the demo kiosks in the shops.

It should not have carried on the name Wii at all. The Wii part is why people think its still the old console.

Nintendo should have made a new name for this one like they usually.

NES, Super, 64, Gamcecube, Wii...and Wii. It just didn't follow suit.

This isn't the Wii, so they shouldn't have kept the Wii name.

Nintendo DS ~ Nintendo DS Lite, Nintendo DSi, Nintendo DSi XL, Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 3DS XL.
Gameboy ~ Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance and Gameboy Micro.
Nintendo Entertainment System ~ Super Nintendo Entertainment System.

. . . This isn't the first time that Nintendo has recycled a name and added in a little tidbit. The Wii U:

- Doesn't look like the Wii.
- Has BLUE game cases instead of white.
- Features a totally different controller.
- Has a ton of demo kiosks.

I don't see why people are having such a hard time differentiating the two. Just goes to show how unobservant the average shopper is.
