Sony’s PlayStation 4 Marketing Slogan Is "Greatness Awaits"

Sony is going to give PlayStation 4 a big marketing push and the keywords behind it are "Greatness Awaits." Siliconera obtained a leak from a company working on the campaign. The commercial starts off by showing an empty road in a small town. A lone guy walks down the road towards the camera and says, "Who are you not to be great? You, with the imagination of a brilliant child and the powers of an ancient god."

JoySticksFTW1841d ago

You forgot, live in your world play in ours-PS2

thechosenone1841d ago

The planets are aligning and everything seems to be falling into the right place. I have really good feeling about this year's E3 will be the greatest console launch ever for Sony. :D

I can't believe people don't remember "Play Beyond"... Or wasn't it an official one? I've seen it around a lot for sure...

Oh_Yeah1841d ago (Edited 1841d ago )

Playstation- The only place where you'll find new exclusive games in every genre for every gamer, gen after gen.

showtimefolks1841d ago

I am glad a little bit of swag is back with playstation brand, IMO PS brand is at its strongest at the moment

Ps3 was a tough pill to swallow early on but Sony made it worth the wait but from now on Sony lets start with day one

Killzone for online MP
Infamous for great single player
drive club for car crazies like me lol
Indie developers for all of us who like a little something different

Ps4's launch is already looking much better than ps3. E3 can't get here soon enough

Only sad thing is now I need to plug in 2 systems which isn't gonna be a lot of fun, but is it what it is. I don't want to sell my ps3 anytime soon since I have a lot of games in my collection

Off topic:

What are the chances we get ultra HD collections next gen hahahhahah

MasterCornholio1841d ago (Edited 1841d ago )

Another logan

"Its better than yours deal with it"

ROFL just kidding on a realistic note i think they would use something like this.

" Built to the core for the core"

"No weird crying baby here"

The horror the horror ahhhhhhhhh

gaffyh1841d ago

The best slogan is still the PS1 one in Europe, Never Underestimate The Power of the PlayStation.

MYSTERIO3601840d ago

They've got a great marketing team this time around! No weird crying baby here.

TheFallenAngel1841d ago

I think those early PS3 commercials were awesome.

aCasualGamer1841d ago

It's fair to say that they were ahead of their time. Seriously if you look at some PS2 and PS1 commercials, even they were ahead of their time.

Brilliant in each of their way.

Commercials award worthy.

Conzul1841d ago

To be fair, the crying baby doll was epic.

No one may have known what was going on, but they sure as hell weren't gonna forget that commercial any time soon. And isn't that the point?

Bathyj1840d ago

Oh I've heard plenty of crying babies since PS4 was announced.

hkgamer1840d ago

I think the adverts in the UK are pretty decent. I did like the old PSone adverts because they were different.
But I guess gaming and gaming perceptions have changed since those days all thanks to sony and maybe MS. COD MW3 advert was cool, WoW advert had different celebs talking about their (fake) experiences. DS had lots of different celebs playing games like brain training, mario etc...
Sony needs celebs to be in their adverts, it just makes it so much more memorable and its just the power of celebs these days.

Wait wait... This won't even work post Holiday 2013.

Maybe, it just seems like they are saying we will always be awaiting greatness if this is for post launch.

GamersRulz1841d ago (Edited 1841d ago )

don't overthink it :)

brave27heart1840d ago

"Greatness awaits"

Its aimed at people without a PS4. For those people greatness awaits once they buy one. It works for everyone up to launch and everyone who doesnt have one post launch. It works just fine.

NumOnePS3FanBoy1841d ago

And indeed it shall be great.

Retroman1841d ago

play "BEYOND" GREATNESS AWAIT!!..... PS4-it only do everything.

Kingdom Come1841d ago

Being an Advertising Student at University, I have to say, the slogan is quite generic...

G20WLY1841d ago

Yeah man, Sony really dropped the ball, I mean why on Earth didn't they hire students to sort their advertising?! lol ;P

Personally, I like it.

iceman061840d ago

Well being a student, you must understand that MOST slogans are generic in essence. Most slogans are just words, until they are placed in the proper context. Sure, some slogans are more catchy than others. If that is what you are saying, then I guess to each his own. However, I would say that it's really the imaging, the content, the music, i.e. the whole package that sells the campaign.

Syanara171840d ago

Dont forget PSP- I have a family to feed

Holla if you recognize that lol
