Monster Hunter 4 is a major release for Capcom this year, as the company seeks to improve earnings. Capcom also provide projections for Resident Evil: Revelations and Lost Planet 3.
they're expecting Lost Planet 3 to sell 1.3 million...well, Capcom better be prepared for the disappointment yet again
I dont understand them at all. Isnt the RE port the one that was on the DS (or 3ds)? Capcom is so out of touch its not even funny.
Didn't really liked the any LP games before but LP 3 reminds me so much of what dead space was and now what it isn't I think a lot of people will be surprised with LP3 so if the game is excellent(which I am hopeful for) than 1.3 million on 2 consoles with install bases for 75 plus million each isn't that far of a reach but if ts just average or above average than it won't Also I wouldn't be surprised if this port of RE sells more 1.3 million, so what you will but a lot of us don't own and are not planning to own handheld systems so there is a big untapped market opportunity
Yeah, LP3 will bomb.
It was on the 3DS, but it really plays like a full console experience. It's a pretty quality game, but they might run into trouble promoting it because people don't like the idea of paying $50 for a port, regardless of the content.
I wouldn't pay more than $35 for a port of a portable game. Even if it's great, the point is that Capcom already made the game, so the $50 price tag doesn't justify the little bit of added effort required to port it onto a console. IMO. @ Erimgard: Good point. Still should be $35-$40 though. Especially the digital version, which means a nearly 100% profit for them. I don't see this being $50. Shoulda been cheaper since they owe us for that debacle named RE 6.
Capcom's rationale is that they built the console version of it from the ground up with all-new graphics and surround sound. It still just looks and sounds like a much better version of the original, but it's not just a quick and sloppy port. They put some time into it. Is it $50 worth of time? Debatable.
Well I think the Resident Evil game might do above expectations, but Lost Planet probably wont. I played the 3DS version of Resident Evil and it is the RE game that RE6 probably should have been, and at a discounted price, it might surprise some people. On the other hand, Lost Planet 3 looks a bit generic and I'm not a fan of what Spark Unlimited has done in the past.
I won't be part of purchasing this on consoles. I will support it on 3DS because that is the console it is designed for. Want my attention, Capcom? Put in the effort with a new Resi experience on home consoles.
If i hadn't already owned it, i'd buy it again the game is worth the price they are charging. Heck it would be worth the Raid mode alone, i've gotten my 40$ back from that mode alone on my 3ds
Mark me down as a, ''plus1.''
lol... hope thats not true coz lp3 looks terrible
To be honest guys, I'm very excited to play RE: Rvelations on my console or PC.
