Fuse Demo Impressions [Horrible Night]

Justin Lacey: "After playing the demo, Insomniac Games completely reassured me as the game couldn't feel better and I just want more Fuse." (Fuse, PS3, Xbox 360)

Really I liked , the graphics are great, the animations are fluid and the gameplay is good. However, the characters design is bland, the two girls are great but the male characters are very simple. Fuse is an interesting game and a nice surprise, but I'll wait until the full review, but looks promising.

and uh... the game doesnt have competitve mode.

I thought that the graphics were horrendous. Compared to most of the games we get today, they just don't compare. Also, I found the gameplay to be very boring. There was something missing in the game and I just couldn't bring myself to like it. I really wish I did though. Insomniac was one of my favorite developers.

Part of the problem is that Overstrike looked to offer something different, but what we got is pretty much more of the same old thing.

They sure went all out on making a generic TPS.

Looks about as boring as they come.

The weapons look promising and the gameplay provided me with some laughs against the flamethrower bosses.

Thought it was OK, but we all know that OK is really not good enough at this stage of the game....I mean, Insomniac should have done a lot better than this.

I played as 1 of the male characters, & I just couldn't get that big useless shield....I mean, I couldn't even take potshots at the enemies, whilst it was activated, I just had to try land that ripple wave shot that it does, then takes 5 seconds to charge back up for another shot.....after the awesome weapons in Ratchet & the more realistic awesome Resistance guns, FUSE was very disappointing.
I will say that the sound & feel of the more traditional guns are pretty impressive.....but common, the entire game should be a fricken beast......Insomniac have made about 7 or so current gen games now, so they should be on fire.

So unless this demo is a particularly boring bit of gameplay, & these special weapons prove to be actually quite "special".....this game is going to struggle to get decent sales.....hell, it could be a 9/10 stellar tile & could still easily fail to sell, so the fact that a particularly unflattering section of the game has been released for us to make our decision on, as well as the fact that the game all round, just doesn't feel quite up there, is a very ominous sign for the game to sell enough.

I just hope, that Insomniac are bought out as 1st party developers by Sony, if this game see's them in financial trouble & without publisher, & they disband all the separate teams they have going, so they can just get back to basics, so they are making games as great as the Ratchet series in it's early days (even up until 2-3 games ago, as Crack in Time was 1 of the best), as well as the under appreciated 1st Resistance & 3rd one as well.
A new character based 3D platformer on PS4 would be a great thing IMO. I rate the Ratchets to be better games than Jak & Daxter, as well as Mario, I just think that Insomniac needs to either start again from scratch in the genre, or continue with Ratchet, but forget all this weird mix & mash up of genres, that has seen the series fall from grace.
I really think the 3D platformer needs a massive resurgence, & nobody better to do so, than the creators of the awesome Ratchet series.
