3 Features Battlefield 4 Simply Has to Have

Battlefield 4 is in the thick of development at EA DICE and doubtless they have more than a few tricks up their sleeves.

Nobody wants a rehash of Battlefield 3 with new weapons and maps - the FPS community is thirsty for something fresh in the Battlefield franchise, even if it's just an amazing feature from previous games brought back in Battlefield 4 in a meaningful way.

The FPS community is tired of being fed the same old meal with an exciting new name. They want something dependable, yes, but also something new. Something exciting and fresh.

From vehicles to the return of an iconic Battlefield game mode, here are a few features that Battlefield 4 simply must have if they hope to get creative and win over the FPS audience at large.

+1 to improved destructibility. I really want to see buildings coming down and streets caving into sewers and subway tracks.

How about they use frostbite for all it's worth. :)

I played the hell out of Bad Company 2 but not as much with Battlefield 3. I'm with you on this one.

funny thing,i liked BF3's beta [had better gameplay - shooting] over the retail version,but doesn't come close to BFBC2's gameplay

Bad Company 2 is my favourite of the Battlefield series. The multiplayer was the last I played religiously. I found myself getting bored with the multiplayer components of FPS's after that. Even BF3 although it was certainly not bad in anyway. Just didn't hold my attention in the same way.

Bots would be great, especially if they're highly customizable. It's such a pain in the ass trying to learn flight controls in the game. I finally figured out you can just find an empty server and practice movement there, but there are things you can still only learn while playing against other players, like successfully avoiding stinger missiles, properly shooting and aiming at moving targets, how many times you need to hit an enemy before they go down, and keeping up your movements with theirs.

Oh and actual aerial battles (helicopter vs helicopter, jet vs jet, helicopter vs jet, etc.), which I'm terrible at.

A bot mode in which you could customize the frequency at which ground soldiers fired missiles and limit it to just one or two soldiers firing those missiles would be nice.

There is nothing more frustrating then trying to learn aerial vehicles in a normal match, getting shot down within like 20 seconds of being in the air.

How about finite ammo for vehicles, return to stations like in BF1943 at bases or captured areas for refill. Also slower ammo regen for everyone using ammo packs so we don't have explosive spamming.

More focus on hardcore modes.

Better protection for spawn areas.

Def agree with more destrucability but IMO you need my first request to make it work fairly.

Finite ammo doesn't work, after a while your thing is useless, unless they have it so you have to land at base to recharge.

But they definitely need to improve vehicles from being one hit killed.

Yes. He already mentioned that you'd have to return to base to refill.

I guess you liked those c-words in BC2 that would just fly a helicopter around, and around in a circle* shooting?

Or those a-holes that sit as far back in their base as they can get with a tank and shoot the objectives?

Yes to anti spawn trapping ... Just put an AA gun to protect spawn area,

A commander, and the ability to be able to launch artillery strikes or so forth. Hell even have teammates operate them artillery have someone spot locations for it. Have a cool down timer on them though so maybe each artillery can only shoot once every 5-7 minutes so they cannot be spammed. Stuff like that, add things.

1. 64-128 Users multiplayer.
2. More factions like China and Europe, with their respective arsenal.
3. More diverse and exotic locations like thailand, New Zeland or Egypt.
