Grand Theft Auto 5 has been whipping gamers up into a soapy lather of hype, speculation and excitement since it was first revealed. VG247′s Dave Cook explains why he’s not bothered…yet.
Very beginning of the story: "I’ve only completed one GTA game. It was the third one." Yeah, I stopped reading at that point.
I'm not bothered at all, i've played every Grand Theft Auto and never completed one, they start of okay and get repetitive quick and last too long with their similiar storylines and lack of interesting story telling etc etc hate the game but always end up getting it because of the hype...not again.
uhhh you’re talking about GTAIV right... Ya I thought so too You probably missed out on ViceCity and SanAndreas. Those were real GTA games The Ballad Of Gay Tony made up for some of GTAIV mistakes in case you’re interested…
I'm the total opposite. GTA5 sounds exactly like what I wanted and expected. They have done all I thought they would and combined the detailed city of 4 with the expansive and varied countryside of RDR. They seem to have learnt from Max Payne 3 for the gunplay and animations. They have brought in some very intriguing, contrasting, and funny characters. You have the switching, loads of customisation, a gigantic world, a lot of activities (seemingly) and bucket loads of vehicles of all types to mess about in. This COULD well be the best GTA to date. It could almost define everything the series is about. I can't wait.
Post written for views i say.
I'm the same, and I always sort of semi regret buying GTA games. This one is definitely impressive, but I don't know, it still seems like more of the same. We're relating to this world the same way- jacking cars and shooting people. I just want to explore and discover. Why does open world nearly always = Psychopathic murderer protangonist.
I think it is because a tourism simulator would be dull and sadly I can't be a psycho in real life. Well I could, but it would end badly for me. Plus GTA5 seems to have 3 very different protagonists each with different motivations.
Meh after that borefest that was GTA 4, R* has dropped to my number 2 favorite develoepr and Bethesda is at no.1.
The only thing keeping R* at number two is becuase how awesome RDR was and the fact that the are going back to the San Andreas type of game with GTA 5.
I liked GTA4 and RDR was great too. Wasnt quite Vice City, but they were good.Looking forward to GTA V. Rockstar is my #2 as well.Valve being number one.
gta 4 was ok but i liked the older ones better and rdr i liked the best even RDR online was much cooler if you played the online when it first came out doing all those missions and coop and mp was just so intuitive. gta5 seems to be a return to form with interesting and fun charcaters, a interesting and fun colorful world and tons of variety and content. nico belic was just a really lame character and only a few of the characters in gta 4 were coool.
After GTA IV I am not as excited as I used to get when I heard a new GTA was coming out and I have played them all with the exception of China Town Wars. Hopefully GTA V will go back to what made the series so much fun prior to GTA IV.
For me after playing GTA IV I am very excited to play GTA V. I have seen how the game has change, and I like GTA IV the most, just because it was kind of different from the others. I hope they change or mix the formula again for GTA V.
