10 upcoming Wii U games for 2013 and beyond

GamesRadar - Nintendo's newest console is suffering from a lack of quality games to play, just like every new console ever released ever. But don't worry--there is a light at the end of the tunnel. A big, bright, beautiful light, wearing... a Mario hat. And jumping. And it's Mario. And he's bringing you games.

I am so wanting to spend money on some quality WiiU titles. I only have 3 atm, MHU, Mario Bros, and sonic racing. MHU is by far the best game for the system, IMO, Nintendo needs about 3 or four monster titles before this Christmas season. If not... It could be a short ride for the Wiiu.

gedden71660d ago

Oh trust Nintendo lol you will be getting at least 5-10 more monster hunters lol

Bay 2, Pikmin, Mario 3d u, Smash Bros U, Mario Kart U, Wind Waker, and Maybe a NEW Zelda game??? Plus MORE 3rd party support Nintendo will be KILLING it this Holiday season!

BosSSyndrome1660d ago

There's no way the new Zelda comes out this year. Wind Waker is slated for October so I'd expect the next one for 2015 or so.

Yea LoZ U will be a late 2014 or early 2015 release.

This^ + WW HD, 3D Mario game, Mario Kart U, & Smash Brothers are all going to be solid to great games that will help sell consoles and hopefully will shut up the ignorant for the time being.

I got Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Batman: Arkham Origins, Watch_Dogs, Lego Marvel Super Heroes Splinter Cell: Blacklist and Raymen Legends all pre-ordered. Many more will follow when the Big Ones are announced.

And to this day, I have Super Mario Bros. U, Lego City Undercover, ZombiU, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, NintendoLand and Skylanders.

Everybody's talking about a game drought for the WiiU. Tell me, how many fawking games do you need to be satisfied?

Summons751660d ago

Don't forget watchdogs, bayonetta 2, splinter cell, assassin's creed 4, yoshi, eternal darkness spiritual successor. So many games and yet haters still find something to pretend is a problem. I own a wii u, I love it so far and I Pitty the people who won't even try the system simply because its Nintendo branded. I'll be buying ps4 and next Xbox too

Amen Brother,

Ignoring games that *will eventually* be releasing for the Wii U (it's odd that you mentioned Bayonetta 2, a game with no official projected release window) the console's software library is for the moment slim at best. Please don't assume I'm a fanboy of any orientation because I love Nintendo and have really been enjoying my 3DS this year, but the Wii U's software lineup currently consists of ports and shovelware.

There isn't a single "system seller" title available for the console, in my opinion (and judging from the sales figures, it's also the opinion of several other gamers). Nobody is "hating" or "pretending it's a problem", they're most likely simply stating facts.

Congratulations on buying a new gen platform so close to its launch (I'd never in a million years) but you paid top dollar for a console that won't be competitively viable for at least a year or two after launch, with a very modest library and a pitiful pile of "exclusives".

People who choose to wait until the games themselves - and not just the promise of the games - are available before getting the Wii U aren't haters or misinformed, they're just smart.

"...but you paid top dollar for a console that won't be competitively viable for at least a year or two after launch, with a very modest library and a pitiful pile of "exclusives"."

But you see, the fact is all that amounts to absolutely nothing when you have fun with the couple of games you bought.

You (and a majority of people) talk like analysts. Can't people just enjoy what's available and not constantly talk about what is coming or what is not?

@QuebecSuperstar

"But you see, the fact is all that amounts to absolutely nothing when you have fun with the couple of games you bought."

That mentality is fine, but recognize that you are one of the few people who will entertain it. Summons75 wrote: "So many games and yet haters still find something to pretend is a problem. "

The Wii U has a slim library by anyone's standards. Sure that's my opinion, but let's looks at the games you mentioned: "I got Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Batman: Arkham Origins, Watch_Dogs, Lego Marvel Super Heroes Splinter Cell: Blacklist and Raymen Legends all pre-ordered."

Each and every one of those games is multiplatform. Someone who owns an Xbox 360 or PS3 couldn't possibly be compelled to get a Wii U for one of these titles.

You also mentioned: " Super Mario Bros. U, Lego City Undercover, ZombiU, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, NintendoLand and Skylanders."

BlOPs 2 and Skylanders are multiplat. So that's...three exclusives? Even if those three exclusives were strong enough ([email protected] NintendoLand) to enthuse a purchase, there are tons of brilliant other games for other platforms to hold you over until the Wii U heats up.

I believe wholeheartedly that the console will *eventually* pick up steam - truthfully, I'm planning to get one the moment either Bayonetta 2, Smash Bros. 4, or Wind Waker HD go on sale.

I'm not an analyst, I'm a critical gamer who hesitates to buy expensive newly launched hardware that currently sports an undeniably weak lineup of exclusive software. If everyone was rich then we could all buy stuff "just because" and enjoy our ports and shovelware until the real, high quality, truly exclusive titles come out. Unfortunately, that isn't the case, and it's perfectly acceptable to strike when the iron is hot (and not a moment before then).

You have every right to enjoy what little is available, just as I have every right to wait until it has a wide library of appealing games (and criticize it until then) - and it'll be much cheaper by that time to boot.

so many games? you just named 6 games.... is this a number that deserves the words " so many...."... so sad for me.

In the end for me wiiU = Xenoblade 2, nevertheless I have high hopes on Miyamoto-san bringing us a Mario that overpasses the "Galaxy´es" from the wii.

Summons751660d ago

ummmm you do realize that there still is 5+ years in it's lifetime and many many games to be released....your a fool to think not. I named six plus the ten plus more

@Edward75: I agree with you! Because of MH I've been using both my 3dsXL and my Wii U way more often and now understand its value. I however have almost 10 games including digital titles like Trine 2 and Nano Assault Neo. Too bad NFS wasn't too much of a hit on Nintendo's platform because it was the superior console version. That's why I don't blame third-party devs for not bringing their games out on it. Even though I bought it new, someone else won't, which is the problem. A lot of Nintendo fans WON'T cough up the doe regardless if it's a great title or not. True it would've been better if they had made a new game entirely but it would've taken too long.

Though I wish there were more games out on the system right now, I'm still happy with my purchase. The Summer update should be the icing on the cake and the titles to come should be a step forward. There are always growing pains with any system at launch, but Nintnedo's pains always hurt more because of the what if's and maybes.

The wiiu exclusive lineup already looks allot better than the competitors, the problem is no one knows when those games come out.
