Joystiq: Lucid Games, the UK independent studio formed by former Bizarre Creations staff in 2011, is teasing "mid-May" news of some kind, a window that happens to match up with the expected May 21 reveal of the next Xbox.
So it looks like there could be 3-4 third party exclusives coming to the next Xbox. Alan Wake 2 Project Gotham Racing 5 Ryse Class4 Respawn Entertainments game (rumored) Cant wait to see what their first party studios bring to the table! *Edit* @Dirty Yea, I guess you're right! Still though, it's looking like they might bring the games at launch, so now that it's looking more and more like they wont have a DRM console, wont block used games, and will focus on games, people will have to complain about something else entirely.
not trying to be a know-it-all, but PGR 5 would be 2nd party. They produce it, MS publishes the game. The IP belongs to MS. Sorry. :-)
PGR 5 literally would be the perfect launch title. I would also love MS to announce Forza at E3 but have it come the following year. We could be look at a potential Next gen Xbox racing era that includes a rotation of PGR 5, Forza 5, and Forza Horizon 2 all complimented by Need for Speed as well. Evil
PGR 5 and Geometry Wars retro evolved 3 = heaven
"Mid May" So most likely the week before MS new Xbox reveal. Things just got real interesting. EDIT: Offtopic: But good news though. https://www.google.com/url?... The mods refuse to approve this. And this is the best news of the day easily. Why are they blocking this is beyond me...
I read that was well but really confused me is this line here. "There are a number of scenarios that our users expect to work without an Internet connection, and those should 'just work' regardless of their current connection status. Those include, but are not limited to: playing a Blu-ray disc, watching live TV, and yes playing a single player game.” How are you suppose to watch Live TV without an internet connection? I would guess they you have to hook your cable or dish to the new Xbox to do this without an internet connection. If you have to hook your cable/satilite up to the Xbox what exactly would be the point of that? You already have a dedicated box to watch such TV stations. If you don't that pretty much tells you that you have to have an Internet connection guess we will find out soon enough. XD
I bet it will have some form of "picture in picture" where you can watch tv at the same time as playing etc....
So the nextbox will have a blu ray player.
Wouldn't most of theses be 2nd party more than 3rd party aside from PGR5 which is 1st party.
The only IP that they would own would be Project Gotham Racing, Alan Wake is owned by Remedy, but Microsoft owns publishing rights, Ryse I'm not sure of, but is developed by Crytek, Class4 would be the MMORPG by Undead Labs, they just have a contract with Microsoft.
Without Forza, its the biggest name of Racing on Xbox!
Looks like the PS4 and the 720 are going to have great launch lineups. Nintendo would you kindly take notes?
I doubt that MS will release all these exclusive games at lunch.
Yeah, lunch would be too soon. They'll probably wait until dinner at least.
Lol...I am not sure why I found that so funny. OT: 720 hype level has just reached over 9000!
@LuridShadowX, LMAO, I chuckled a little, good one. My bad.
Agreed, the Wii U didn't have such a great launch but I'd say they will announce something soon. They seem very focused on the 3DS. I mean these past couple of months, a lot of really good titles came out.
I been telling people that this is what MS will have in store for the Next box during the next few years. Sounds logical if you ask me. 2013: PGR5 Killer Instinct 3 Respawn New IP Ryse 2014: Gears of War 4 Forza 5 Alan Wake 2 2015: Fable MMO Halo 5 Black Tusk's new game And of course there could be more new games incoming.
great news for pgr5, back on 05, all the good times of pgr3 and the duels i made, all the friends i kept since, we are all waiting for the next round, cause pgr4 was a bit let down. i have my fanatec csr elite ready.....
Ohh PGR5 is def. going make me wanna buy an xbox fusion,720,8 whatever it's going to be called.
Major "kudos"points for Microsoft if this is true.
This will be interesting because some ex Bizarre staff went to Evolution Studios for Sony's DriveClub. So both systems will have somewhat the same kind of racers at launch. Next gen is going to get crazy!!!
