Star Wars: Battlefront III - Former Q&A Tester Shares New Details, Was Not Close To 99% Completion

DSOGaming writes: "Ah, we know that most of you will be cursing us. Why are you guys covering a title that was cancelled? Why, when you know that we wanted that title? Obviously it wasn't. Was there ever a case where a game was 99% done before it even got officially announced?

Didn't think so.

Goldeneye HD came pretty close to that. It was reportedly almost done by the time it came out that Microsoft and Nintendo couldn't come to an agreement, and it got scrapped.

While I do believe Free Radical takes a substantial share of the blame for BF3, in the end it was the absolute piss poor decision making in LucasArts that blew it.

Every publisher and developer needs a cash-cow they can milk, LucasArts spent way too much time getting fat and happy on the SW license that they forgot you have to actually make games to stay relevant.

They didn't, so they weren't, so they got the ax.

Well yea, I think along the lines of 75% done is plausible. Free Radical did say that they had the voice cast work done, which is really late stages.

Shame that now we'll probably see it switch to more of a Army Of Two style game if it ever gets made.

All this recent Battlefront 3 news makes me think the EA marketing movement is doing some undercover work.
