Older Pokémon Games Are Still Selling Pretty Well

Last year, Nintendo released the latest Game Freak-developed Pokémon role-playing games for the Nintendo DS, Pokémon Black 2 and Pokémon White 2 – both of which have sold over seven million units. As you can see in the above table, which was compiled from Nintendo’s various financial reports over the last year, older Pokémon games for the Nintendo DS are still selling well, especially considering all of them were released over two years ago. The next installments in the main Pokémon series, Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, are scheduled to release later this year, exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS. (3DS, Nintendo, Nintendo DS)

The entire 150 Originals surpass the rest of the pokemon by quite a big gap. Except for Gold/Silver which came close enough. And some pokemon from the later ones such as Tyrantar.

I'll assume he meant design, as that is what the person he is replying to seems to be talking about. I love Gen 1 Pokemon, but his statement that all of the original Pokemon are better designed than the majority of the new ones is pretty silly considering Grimer, Voltorb, Magnemite, etc. Nothing wrong with favoring the older gens, but him saying every one of them is better than almost any new one is silly.

I prefer the older pokemon games since i grew up watching the series and playing the red/blue games. + i don't like the new pokemons

Ive been wanting to pick up either heartgold/soul silver to play again but the prices wont come down -_-.....

That is annoying, not to mention that they sold out in many places. However, I really wanted to buy Heart Gold a couple of months ago, so I just said to myself "what the hell?" and bought it in one of the only places it was available at. Granted it was at the same price as Black/White, but it was worth it.

I'm just training at Mt. Silver right now. I do recommend it.
