Saints Row 4: Can You Really Expand DLC to a Full game

GamerFitNation: Saints Row 4 was announced a little while ago with a very over the top trailer. I am a fan of the series, but what was said about the game following the trailer has made me slightly nervous. Volition, the developer of Saints Row has said that the game was originally intended to be Down-loadable Content (DLC) for Saints Row the Third, but they wanted to include so much stuff that they simply made it into a full game. This scares me a little because I am a practical person and want to get the most bang for my buck. If this game was originally just DLC, the amount that the game has been expanded is what is going to justify the price increase. (PS3, Saints Row 4, Xbox 360)

Nope

I don't see why people are falling for this to be honest, shouldn't fans want a true Saints Row sequel. I mean paying for expanded DLC....come on thats just low.

Lets not forget the plot has been ruined and turned to crap

Saints Row found the perfect balance and Saints Row 3 took a step back but also crossed the line.

Killing off Gat was the worst mistake they could have ever made.

Since they are going the sci-fi route, then expect Gat to be revived.
They didn't really kill him off. He comes back in the DLC.

Also, this game isn't just going to be the stuff that was planned as DLC. They're obviously making more content based around the DLC for it to be worthy of a sequel.

Actually @My_Name_BTW_Is_Dante, no he does not come back in the DLC for SR3 as the Gat we know. The Gat is a clone of the real Gat and will never be as awesome as the real Gat. Nor that stupid fuckin Zombie Gat.

For the people disagreeing

You would want to pay the price of a full retail game for DLC....how sad, no wonder developers screw us over with their terrible DLC tatics.

Oh, stop...

You know very well that most people wouldn't pay full retail price for DLC. Yes, the content in Saints Row 4 was originally planned to be SR3 DLC, but just like Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, THE CONCEPT HAS EVOLVED INTO A FULL RETAIL GAME.

Exactly what aPerson said. It's a super easy concept to understand too. Not sure how it is lost on you.

Having actually seen the game live and in person, I can tell you with 100% confidence this game will be great, and I am not a big fan of the series otherwise.

@aPerson

No you stop

AC Brotherhood was totally differnt, they had more people working on the game and they had it set it a totally new place. This game is still set in the same city as SR3 and the only new things are a few things here and there

Honestly paying full price for DLC....you guys are all crazy, really.

DarthJay and aPerson, bubbles up. Glad to see you two not jumping to conclusions. I guess some people just like to focus on the negatives way more often than the positives.

The game isn't even out yet. Relax. Some games start as DLC and become disappointing short full games *COUGH*ODST*COUGH* but that doesn't mean that with proper development time, a DLC concept couldn't turn into a worth-while full title.

No, btw. Rockstar says hi.

iT IS SAD THAT A SINGLE dlc IS BEING PASSED OFF AS A FULL GAME AND HOW STUPID AND GREEDY IS THE COMPANY FOR DOING THIS
SephirothX21  +   571d ago
Don't see why not. CoD has been doing it since 2007.
RuleofOne343  +   571d ago
See why not , before we crucify the developers can we see how it turns out first.besides i rather they work with what they have then start from scratch.

dont like the new route they are taking with SR.
the first one was great!
had great aiming mechanics and weight on the cars and such.
it had it silly moments and such aswell and all the good stuff, but the second and third game is just worse in many ways for me. rather play the first one than the new once TBH.
SR just isnt the same as it was.
