Loved the first game. Not so much the second (Ties that Bind), but the Shutter Island meets Dead Space/Silent Hill prison island jaunt through the 1st one was cool. Even came with a haunted prison documentary on disc, heh.

Great game. Replayed it recently, actually.

Same as you, didn't take to the second too much. Wasn't a bad game, but it definitely wasn't as good as the original.

Midway really needs to sell the rights to this IP to a good publisher who will make a true horror game in the same vein as the first game (not EA).

Great IP i wonder if Midway still haves the rights to this game or sold them.Stan Winston monster designs and artwork its just amazing!

One of the first games I ever played using surround sound, scared the shit out of me! Great sound design for it's time of release, they nailed the ambiance

Loved the first one. The second one i remember liking a lot too maybe not as much but i still liked it a lot. i still can hear the voice of the old man every time you would find a new page about a new enemy like it was yesterday. That sick body bag wrapped up with chains, spinning around like a copter-blade before sliding back underground good times.

I remember the suffering and it was descent game. I always wanted to play Crimson but never got to it.

But honestly, I’ve never played a game that really scared me, like some movies from the past have.

I remember The Suffering 1 and 2. I haven't thought about those games in years. I still remember some parts of the level in the prison where a guy was sucked through a vent screaming. I don't know why that's stuck with me all of these years.

I'm saving RE VIII for when the PS VR2 comes out.

Such a shame that they never ported Fatal Frame II: Director's Cut to anything else. The added ending is by far my favourite.

Call of Cthulhu and Cold Fear are both pretty good horror-esq games.

Orchard579d ago

The Thing was a great game back in the day. I would love a remaster or remake.

The NPC Trust system was amazing for its time

KillBill579d ago

One of the very few games that I would actually like to see a remake and deserves a new current gen upgrade.

monkey602579d ago

That's such a good list of games 😍

Fatal Frame 1&2. Its a horrible shame those two original xbox games never got backwards compatible for series consoles. Horrible

I'd love a reboot or remaster of nightmare creatures. I never played the suffering but it sounds cool.

If you don't gameplay that hasn't aged in the best way (but is still workable), it's definitely worth playing. The sequel was... okay, but the tone and atmosphere of the original lends for a great horror game.
