Where Does the Vita Fit Amongst the Sony E3 Press Conference?

VG Republic Writes: It is a baffling factuality that there has never been a portable unit that gamers wanted more, but has received less support than the PlayStation Vita has since its inception. It's a sad truth, the gamers have finally achieved gaming nirvana on the go and they have nothing to show for it in terms of games to play. The Vita is undoubtedly slipping further down into the dark abyss that lies ahead of it, and the questions surrounding is what is Sony's plans for the system with a brand new home console on their mind seem mottled and is anyone's guess, possibly even their own. There is no reason that the Vita should be experiencing the hard times that it has as even porting should be easier than what it comes across, just judge it from the number of titles that are available today. The date was confirmed by Sony yesterday, for the E3 press conference that Sony is planning to hold on the 10th of June at 6:00PM PST and the main focus will be the next generation hardware, so where does the Vita fit into their plans? (PS Vita, Sony)

Yes, why not? Vita needs much needed support and when new games are to be announced, with a price drop, it will sell like hotcakes. There's a strong confirmation that a price drop will happen in june- august. Many new games are coming out soon, such as Killzone M (September), Tearaway(October), Jak and Daxter collection (June), sly collection (this year)... etc I expect a lot of bundles on the horizon. :)

If PS4 remote play works like they're saying, the Vita will have no problems succeeding. All they have to do is show CoD running remotely on a Vita, and they'll sell billionz!!!

"If PS4 remote play works like they're saying, the Vita will have no problems succeeding."

I find it a little amusing that you think that the success of Vita depends on its ability to play PS4 games several feet away from a PS4.

How is telling people that they need an extra $400+ machine in addition to a $200+ Vita going to make the Vita successful?

What the Vita needs is a price drop and EXCLUSIVE titles.

I don't even get this feature. you have PS4 hooked up to the TV, but you want to play PS4 games on the little Vita screen?

@ LOGICWINS

I didn't say the success of Vita depends on it... YOU DID. I'm just saying the ability to play PS4 games anytime, anywhere is pretty enticing, even to those who only play on home platforms.

@ aquamala

You do realize it's called "REMOTE PLAY" for a reason? You don't have to be by your PS4 to play PS4 games. You can play your PS4 games on your Vita while away from home.

LOL, these guys...

I didn't realize it wasn't spelled out clearly that remote play allows you remote access to the PS4.

You will be able to play the games and videos on your PS4 system over any sturdy internet connection. You could literally be across the city, state, country, continent or planet. Just as long as you've got a good internet connection.

I wish they'd port that new Rayman game to the vita, it's coming to every other system and it looks great. Maybe it is already and I just haven't heard about it? It would look amazing on the vita screen.

I expect a price drop on the memory cards, the announcement of a 64GB card, a GTA game for VITA(biggest announcement, and several new ip's/games.

If they do that I will jizz out of my ass.

so full of negativity..... so full of doubts......

seems a lot of you.... have forgotten the rough times of the ps3 and 3ds in their first years or two.....
just because killzone and tearaway are the only titles announce FROM Sony doesnt mean they dont have something hidden within their sleeves,
ofcourse it will have its time on E3 and will have its own games announce
sometimes the lack of patience of a person makes him/her do something that eventually he/she will regret in the future....

Last year the vita wasn't or barely mentioned during E3, too much time was wasted on wonder book.
stage88  +   537d ago
Because the Vita had its own full scale event as Gamescom. E3 was primarily for the PS3.
Where have you been?
PsnGammer21  +   537d ago
Well if that's true they could have said that before e3 so we didn't get our hopes up. Well I'm just excited for e3 I know vita will get at least 30 mins of talk lol, but for real I think the vita needs a proper cod game hopefully a ported ghost and then a gta and a original ff that is not 13 could help and some fresh new ops like tear away. I'm Also really excited for the ps4

Hopefully no more vaporware like RE(PSP), Bioshock, ZoE and Borderlands(rumored).

I think we can at least expect new games (either sequel or a new ip) from the makers of GR and UCGA.

More KZM footage is pretty much a given.

Another CoD seems possible but I think the spot may have been filled with KZM.. unless the new CoD will be released late Q4.

I think there will be at least 1 new completely unnanounced(/no rumor/out of nowhere) game as well.

There's probably going to be one or two localization announcements (GE2/Toukiden/etc.).

Then a port or two (Injustice? Batman 3DS multi-plat?).. and lastly; a bunch of indie announcements.
