Capcom Explains the Lack of New Trophies/Achievements in Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen

Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, an enhanced version of 2012′s Dragon’s Dogma, launched back on April 23rd at retail and on the PSN. Owners of the game quickly noticed that there weren’t any new trophies with Dark Arisen, rather that it just uses the same trophy list as Dragon’s Dogma. - PSLS (Capcom, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, PS3, Xbox 360)

Were they never boy scouts? Should always plan ahead.

Its fine. I always go after trophies but I loved DD so much I didn't really care about them. On a different note, I saved 2nd playthrough for the expansion and an increase in difficulty. Its the last trophy I need.

The only game that I'm playing right now without a trophy to be had. DD is one of the best RPGs released in the last 20 years.

Not without it's faults... but still one of the best!

I wonder if they'll give out some free DLC?

So there's no incentive to get Dark Arisen if you have the original?

Not very well planned out

A new dungeon and story isn't enough?
DragonKnight  +   852d ago
$40 for one new dungeon and story is not incentive. If they could just let people who already own the game download this "expansion" then that would be a better incentive. But nope, they just gotta remind people about their greed.
Sharius  +   852d ago
for the whole 40 bucks?

coolbeans  +   852d ago
Can't say I knew the price before these responses...or Capcom's strange expansion/non-expansion strategy.

Those are interesting tidbits.

I'm almost more interested in Hard Mode and Speed Run Mode than the new dungeon, though it does sound cool. I'll probably wait until I find it for around $20.
Baka-akaB  +   852d ago
As if you couldnt just trade in for the cost of a normal dlc ..

And even without that it's hardly 40$ if you search well enough , i live overseas and still only paid 29 while importing it .

Truth of the matter, if Capcom releases a game you want, wait awhile before getting it, they'll release an all-inclusive ver later regardless. Just get that. That's why I did and I got all of Dragon's Dogma and Dark Arisen for $40 vs. the potential $60+$40 I would have spent.
ftwrthtx  +   852d ago
That is definitely the way to go.
But if everyone did that and let's say DD sold very poorly why in the world would they spin this DA version later? lol
Kenshin_BATT0USAI  +   852d ago
Exactly, but hey idiots and rich people make the world go around.
Skate-AK  +   852d ago
Well I planed ahead and waited until they re-released the game with extras before I thought about getting it.

Couldn't be done as dlc uh? Yeah sure Crapcom, now tell me why each stage in this "new game" looks the same as the last one, just added some fire a and some other little things to say "new area".

I'm happy I got to play my friends copy with my god character, because it didn't seem worth the money.
