This is yet another reason people should pick this game up when it comes out.

If you know me, and I know you people at N4G do, when I need metrics on the possibility of a new game I always ask the composer.

Having said that sarcastically, I think the only way we'll see a new game in the series is if they find a way to reinvent the game for a modern age.

FallenAngel19841745d ago

I doubt it would

Neither Mega Man’s not Simon & Richter Belmont’s inclusion in the roster instantly led to a new game within their series. No reason to believe Banjo & Kazooie’s would.

Lighter91745d ago

No, however, it seems like Konami might be seeing if people want a new Castlevania game since they rereleased all of them. Even the obscure Gameboy ones.

FallenAngel19841745d ago

Konami would’ve rereleased those Castlevania games regardless of Simon & Richter’s inclusion in SSBU like they did with their other series.

I’m saying a dormant franchise’s inclusion in SSB doesn’t automatically pertain to a new game in the respective series. It happens on external factors.

For example Mega Man 11 happened because of the sales of the Legacy Collection, not because he was in SSB4.

LemyAtom1745d ago

Doesn't that mean is would be Xbox exclusive if they did as they now own Rare?

mark_parch1745d ago

it wont, rare don't want to revisit old ip except for ones nobody cares about like battletoads

I actually liked it for what it was. But then again I'm not a Banjo fan. I actually hated a lot of the N64 style games that all followed the same Mario 64 style. Except for Conker.

IRetrouk1752d ago

I really enjoyed this game, the building was fun, I thought it was a well made platformer.

Vits1752d ago (Edited 1752d ago )

I kind of agree. The game had many new ideas that would have worked better in a new IP as people wouldn't be so upset that Nuts & Bolts played so differently from the older titles.

PhoenixUp1752d ago

I seriously hate how angular the redesigns are for so many of the characters in the game

The X06 trailer built people’s hopes only for the final release to ruin those dreams

-Foxtrot1752d ago

Damn right it should have

Can we just get Banjo Threeie and write this game off as Kazooies bad dream or something. An in game joke.

Banjo-Kazooie creator says Smash Bros. reveal was ‘mind-blowing’

In a recent interview, Banjo-Kazooie composer Grant Kirkhope was asked about how he felt when he heard his music in the character reveal trailer for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and how it compared to his other career highlights.

According to the living legend himself, it’s on par with the time Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle was first revealed for the Nintendo Switch at the Ubisoft E3 conference a number of years ago:

Banjo & Kazooie were heavily requested characters ever since the first SSB. Now they’re finally being allowed to intermingle with the Nintendo family again

This is the greatest thing to happen for the characters since the XBLA remasters.

timotim1768d ago (Edited 1768d ago )

Seeing those fan reactions was crazy! A lot of love out there for these two characters.

Teflon021768d ago

if MS didn't say they had no problem with Banjo in Smash before even the initial release. It would be mind blowing. But it was obvious to come unless Nintendo was just being dumb. It's great though, just expected at this point. Especially after Joker

LeeFender1768d ago

MS actually DID say they wanted Banjo in Smash a few years ago on twitter by Phil Spencer himself.

Teflon021768d ago

yeah you're right. I actually forgot that was what he said. I was thinking it was something like they don't mind Banjo in Smash if Nintendo approached em

drpepperdude1768d ago

It would be nice if Sony did the same thing with their characters or made a good clone.

Prince-Ali1768d ago

PSABR was a REAL good 'clone' but people trashed it because of their bias for Smash lool

Outlawzz1768d ago

That game was such wasted potential. If they would have just made it with damage percentage and stocks like smash it would have been better but that whole only getting points if you kill with a special move was pretty dumb. All in an effort to be different which ultimately was the games demise.

Prince-Ali1768d ago

The issue with that right... is that you then run the (very VERY) real risk of everyone then turning around and saying OMGGG this is LITERALLY JUST A CLONE OF SMASH!!!!! And people clowning it out the park... I liked how the game focused on the finishers and that there were 3 variations of each finisher adding a deep strategic element to when and how to use your finisher... The game also DID offer stocks and time mode.. Kills got you points and deaths lost you points so the amount of strategy was there.. the character roster felt great and everyone was unique... It was a REALLY good game... was just not given the opportunity because it's not Smash and anything that tries to jump into the genres 'synonymous' with Nintendo games AUTOMATICALLY get held to a different standard and shunned... simples

drpepperdude1767d ago

I didn't like the gameplay at all which is why I never bought it. I especially didn't like the build up a meter and then finish everyone mechanic. I've always liked Smash and PlayStation characters so it should have been a easy purchase for me but it wasn't.
