Unlike EA, Activision believes Wii U is 'next-gen'

Some third party publishers have spoken out saying that they don't believe Nintendo's new console qualifies as 'next-gen' to them. Activision has confirmed that they are willing to put the system into their 'next-gen' category, separate from current consoles. (Activision, EA, Next-Gen, Nintendo, Wii U)

They can think what they want just because it came out last year does not make it next gen as all it is is a 3ds one screen next to you and the other on the screen.

You're right, it isn't next-gen because it came out last year. It's next gen because it has 4 times the RAM as 360/PS3 (even more than Wii), three times as much eDRAM as 360 (much more than Wii, and the rumored same amount that will be in Xbox 720), among other features like Miiverse, off-TV play, etc.

Last I heard Activision had no issues with Nintendo and they've always been the multiplat types. If they weren't they probably wouldn't have ported as many CoD games to the Wii as they did.

The rumors suggest otherwise for EA.

Good on you, Activision. With a new engine for COD, I might be interested again. Also, BRING DEADPOOL TO WII U.

Man, I wish for that.

The wait is to long for "Call Of Duty: Ghost". I need at least one shooter game, as I only have "Super Mario U". And one racer and one rpg, then all other game is a givin. And I would love a casino game on consoles.

Where are all of the Wii U haters? I want to see them try to spin this.

It's unspinable, Bobby Kotick cannot tell a lie.

Their too busy celebrating the next Madden not getting released for the Wii U. This is good news so its ignored. Edit: No Madden is good news to me but that just my opinion. I'm still trying to figure out why EA thought a gimped unsupported game could compete with the other versions.

hehe i noticed that this post is pretty quiet but if it were a doom n gloom article it would be thriving with haters

I love trolls and there selective trolling, like on the article about how many games Nintendo first party games sold and not one troll went on it. (the numbered where too good to bare).

Now that an article is saying a major publisher recognizes the wii-u as next gen no one wants to come and bash it.

But atleast wii-u will be getting some support from a 3rd party
millzy102  +   939d ago
its funny because the only major publisher that openly said they are not supporting Wii u is ea.

Activision, check

Ubisoft, check

square enix, check

capcom, check

Sega, check

other publishers like konami, 2k, rockstar have neither said they are or not so it can go both ways at the moment but atleast 1 major publisher reconises and stated that Wii u is NEXT GEN
