Partnership with Microsoft Reveals Beautiful Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Artwork

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn may not be coming to the Xbox 360, but Square Enix sure is keen to partner with Microsoft to promote the game. Last Weekend at the Nico Nico Chokaigi 2 event the publisher had a co-marketing initiative with Windows 8, but that’s not all.

Microsoft and Square Enix have put the Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and the Internet Explorer 10 brands together for another partnership, and one with a touch of art and creativity in it.

Hmmm, lots of partnerships going on lately.

AngelicIceDiamond1901d ago

That's what I'm noticing as well.

The more partnerships the better.

I know I'd get a ton of disagrees on this, but I wish they'd partner to put the game on the 360 and NextBox (alongside the PS3 and PS4, and why not, the WiiU).

I know people love their "exxxclusives", but unless it aims to an extremely specific niche like Camelot Unchained for instance a MMORPG needs all the audience it can get nowadays. It's really an issue of "the more the merrier".

I'm not against that idea, I like the idea of third party exclusives less and less these days, and I thought that trend was dying out, but now it seems to be gaining momentum again.

They take their sweet time just getting one game to store shelves. I'm not gonna ask them to make multiple versions.

Abriael1901d ago

@KwietStorm: not saying they should do it right now. There's always time after release.

I wouldn't mind that at all... In fact I would love if some kind of cross play was envolved, afterall the it's a MMORPG, it have it's own persistent servers and the game should play the same across multiple platforms (maybe not PC with all the shortcuts a keyboard offers, but you get what I mean).

A partnership but not for FF XIV? Makes you wonder if the partnership will develop something else instead...perhaps a game for the Nextbox?

Hey Square, remember know the console you first launched FF on. How about some love for the WiiU.
