Molyneux teases mystery appearance at Microsoft's next Xbox reveal event

Peter Molyneux looks set to appear at Microsoft's next Xbox reveal event later this month.

The former Microsoft executive told Eurogamer he has the chance to be at Microsoft's Redmond headquarters for the hotly-anticipated announcement - and he's keen to make the most of it.

But he stressed that the invitation is not at the behest of his former employer, Microsoft. "There's this opportunity that's come up for me to be involved - it's not from Microsoft by the way - in the Xbox announcement, and I'm probably going to take up that opportunity," he told Eurogamer.

"I'm sworn to secrecy here. It should be really good fun, and maybe slightly contentious." (Next-Gen, Peter Molyneux, Xbox One)

"This will be the best Fable yet!" (ends up terrible)
"This will be the best Fable yet!" (ends up terrible)
"THIS will be the best Fable yet! I swear this time!" (ends up worst in the series)

Actually the first wasnt that bad, even when it was nothing like Molyneux said.

But yes, the guy is living on his name (and mouth) alone since he founded Lionhead.

so... what's he going to be claiming as the best thing since sliced bread now, that "isn't on rails", and then completely failing on delivering followed by complaining about how the world wasn't ready?

Fable 4 now with all the promised features of 1,2,3 and we also still have farting, terrible bosses and a crappy story. Please be hyped.

Hey now,

Fable:Lost Chapters was actually really good. It's one of my fav. WRPGs. Unf. the sequels were a pretty big let down.

biggest issue I had was w/ Fable 3... your actions didn't matter... as long as you had money in the bank.

It's almost like they are trying to mimic the real world lol

I suggest we all save ourselves the time and just go straight to being disappointed.

lol MS gets Molyneux and Sony brought Bungie, Blizzard and indie devs. MS on the right path...to destruction
MasterCornholio  +   794d ago
Especially when they announced exclusive DLC for the PS4 version of Destiny. I cant wait for Destiny to destroy halo because its time that Bungie taught 343 industries a lesson.
WildArmed  +   793d ago
That's true, but exclusive DLC doesn't always mean that MS won't have their own exclusive DLC.

It'd be interesting to see if Bungie does that, kinda like how Soul Calibur IV did (timed) exclusive dlc for both platforms.
Gamer-40  +   794d ago
Sony brought Bungie?

LoL, why? One multiplatform game Destiny? Blizzard? Multiplatform Diablo?

Bad joke.
Enemy  +   794d ago
Self-destruction, yes. They've managed to destroy the Xbox brand as well achieve the betrayal of what it meant to be an Xbox gamer. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you... Kinectbox 720.

Actually for E3 it looks like Microsoft might have Respawn Entertainment and their new IP. That is just for starters, and since Peter doesn't work for Microsoft or Lionhead, I doubt he'd have any say in any Microsoft games for the future.

When you consider the guy works on IOS games, it's easy to see why this interview was really searching for a correlation.
grimmweisse  +   794d ago
You do know bungie's upcoming title is multiplatform right? It's not a PS exclusive. And I won't be surprised if Diablo 3 gets a Nextbox release as well. How about wait and see who MS will bring out for their unveling instead of making assumptions.

The secrect is that he's the creative director of Call of Duty Ghosts. Jokes.

Props to Molyneux, but this guy over promises and under delivers. His ideas are good, but with every generation no hardware he works on seems to allow his vision to be realized. His excuses, not mine.

...and why the hell don't they bring back BC (cancelled project from Xbox1)? BC was an amazingly cool idea. A prehistoric game with a theme of evolution.

BC got canned because he said the current hardware available was not powerful enough for his game.

He's very talented, I'm curious as to what he may come up with...
