Platinum’s Inaba Says The Wonderful 101 Will Make You Glad To Own A Wii U

Yesterday, The Wonderful 101 director Hideki Kamiya—also known for his work on Bayonetta and Devil May Cry—tweeted: “If u hate to finish a game the next day u buy it, u better not play TW101. I focus on how it is fun, not how long it lasts till the ending.”

Naturally, some people took Kamiya’s comment to mean that The Wonderful 101 would be a short game, so PlatinumGames’ executive director, Atsushi Inaba, hopped onto Twitter himself to put the fire out this evening. In a series of tweets, Inaba clarified. (The Wonderful 101, Wii U)

the WiiU trouble will make Nintendo work harder to make great exclusive games for the system, just like Sony had to do with the PS3.

my future home setup looks to be PS4,PC and WiiU for exclusives.

looks like I may have the exact same setup. Went with Microsoft last gen for the multiplats and the few exclusives that interest me, however this time around I think I will go with Sony for the multiplats and their exclusives to go along with my Wii U. The only franchise I still care for on MS is Alan Wake, and I am pretty sure the next game will release for PC as well, so I can always get it there.

Think Ill be the same as wrll. You never know M$ might come out with something really compelling when they anounce the next box, but Im happy with Naughty Dog and Mario at the moment.

Good Nintendo news, Sony praise in the first comment, haven't seen that before...in fact, the first three comment have little to nothing to do with Nintendo.

Why are Alan Wake and Naughty Dog even being brought up?

This is about the Wii U and the Wonderful 101. I long for a day that I can go in a positive Nintendo article or an article about a major game and the topic actually stay on those 2 things.

To be fair, the article is about a Dev saying that he is giving people a reason to buy a Wii U. I see no reason that this shouldn't lead into people talking about which consoles they will purchase.

I don't need a reason to purchse a Wii U, I already own one. I was merely responding to the above poster stating that he/she thinks that they will have a PS4, PC and Wii U for exclusives. I agreed, because that will more than likely be my setup. I only added in the comments afterwards to explain my reasoning as to why I am going that route.

I have always been a firm supporter of Nintendo and always will. Is the Wii U perfect? Far from it. Do I expect to have lots of fun playing it? Absolutely, already have (Lego City is a blast). I will be purchasing Wonderful 101 day one if that makes you feel any better lilbroRx. I have been following this game ever since it was originally revealed as Project P-100.

Uh Nintendo has always spend large amount of time on big games they have in the past 9 years.

Platinum Games' releases are notoriously short, but it's tough for me to complain when the quality is so amazingly high.

Personally, I'd rather finish an amazing game that I'll remember for years to come in a couple days than play a much longer game that just isn't as fun.

I liked the look of this game when it didn't even have a proper name, so of course I'm going to buy it, there isn't much else competing for the money on my Wii U right now anyway.
