VGChartz writes: "Japanese sales are down significantly from previous week. No title sold over 50,000 units. DS software once again accounted for the majority of software sold in the top twenty. It was the only platform to sell over 100,000 units of software. While PS3's Yakuza 3 debuted strongly last week, it is following the pattern of recent big PS3 titles in Japan, declining rapidly after release. PSP had one only title in the preliminary data, though most of its major titles will get a boost when the new version of Monster Hunter Portable 2 releases later this month.
- Japanese software sales are down by about 33% in the preliminary data from the previous week.
- Smash Brothers and Yakuza 3 remain the best selling titles for Wii and PS3.
- Despite the decline in sales overall, ten titles sold over 10,000 units this week.
