Heroes Of Newerth Pro Gamer Kyle 'Swindlemelonzz' Freedman Believes ESports Will Be On TV By 2018

In the eSports field, most of the attention is focused on big games like Riot Games’ League of Legends, Blizzard Entertainment’s StarCraft II and Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops II. But S2 Games has steadily grown its user base of Heroes of Newerth (HoN) since switching to the popular free-to-play business model last year. The multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game recently hosted the best HoN players in the world in Las Vegas for the HoN Tour Grand Finals at The Palms Hotel and Casino.

Kyle ‘Swindlemelonzz’ Freedman captained the winning team, Stay Green, to a championship victory and a check for $30,000 in Sin City over Trademark eSports. Freedman talks about the rise of HoN and the keys to being a successful pro gamer in this exclusive interview.

The story is too old to be commented.

It's nice to see HoN get some eSports love in the media.

Does G4's old Arena show not count? That was on TV.

I don't think they were really pros on that show I dont know though. Halo 2 MLG was on espn 2 for a little bit in its prime.

if esports will be on TV, what network will showcase it? G4 is no more.

Electronic arts payperview, can only be viewed on an xbox with a yearly subscription.

Looks like we can't be friends and, we have to attack each other because of our different tastes. :P

I'd bet EA or Activision to make a TV channel/network for it to show on. Surprised none has done it already.
