8 Things You Should Expect To See At Microsoft’s Next-Gen Reveal

Microsoft has finally announced the date they'll be officially announcing their next-gen console as well as any other entertainment products to the public. Here at MAG we've put together a list of 8 things we believe you should expect to see and/or hear about at the event. (Microsoft, Xbox One)

More important: Show the Console

I don't think showing the console is important, Sony proved it's not needed. All they need to do is show the features of the OS and what games are coming.

If they don't show the next xbox then they are pretty pathetic, considering Nelson from Microsoft made fun of Sony for not showing the ps4 at the PlayStation meeting. "Announce a console without actually showing a console? That's one approach,"

Just imagine the irony... let it sink in for a minute or two.

@cannon8800 Gotta love how you stated bare facts yet still got disagrees.

I want to see a whale show this time around. I'm tired of the singing and dancing and the circus. I want some sort of Sea World-like attraction. The could say the console is water proof or something ridiculous as that or tie it in with entertainment.
cannon8800  +   545d ago
@xflo 360

yeah I must have violated their feelings. What a bunch of big crybabies.

I would really laugh if they don't reveal it seeing az how major nelson's tweet could mean so much OTHER than an actual next xbox announcement...anyhow, back to the list...i'll save you the trouble of clicking...it consist of debunking everything that was rumored.
Jek_Porkins  +   546d ago
It wasn't just a Tweet, they have it advertised on the Xbox dashboard, and it's going to be played live on Xbox as well as Spike TV.

Aaron Greenberg also said it was about the next Xbox, so it's definitely about the next Xbox.

I hope they show the console, since Microsoft has always shown off their new consoles before E3, I think they will show it, especially after people like Major Nelson and Greenberg both kind of ragged on Sony a bit about having a reveal with no actual console to show off.

Love to see it actually running up on the stage, the OS, the Kinect 2.0 integration and improvements.
Tell me it's not DRM, plays used games and is backwards compatible and you have a sale.

If it's DRM I'll pass, if it blocks used games I'll pass. That simple for me.

Biggest mistake they could make is not showing the console at a console reveal
spoonard  +   546d ago
They will show the hardware...if it's finalized. If it's not finalized how could they possibly show the outer case?
GreenRanger  +   546d ago
They WILL show the console, simply because Sony didn't.
silkrevolver  +   546d ago
This is actually some sound logic.

It will appear that they've got something over Sony... at least for a couple of weeks.
Indo  +   546d ago
Im not expecting anything short of what Sony showed.
talisker  +   546d ago
I expect:
- people talking
- screens showing things
- sound setup playing
- lights pointed to the stage
- some music

I dare to say I'll be 100% correct!
ScubaSteve1  +   546d ago
they better not have usher, or kids, or any crappy acting if they showed off kinect games
Oh_Yeah  +   546d ago
-new os with twice the ads.. but it's okay if it's hard to find the icon to launch your game because every xbox now comes with kinect and you can just say play game instead of searching through the great wall of ads.
-Kinect
-food apps
-xbox live with some obscure feature they think is worth 60 bucks probably use xbox in conjunction with your cable box
-next cod/ timed dlc, halo, gears, and forza
-the same wireless controller but rechargeable without the big ol battery pack...
-illumniroom
-the console or release date or price

Can't say i disagree with some all of those statements even if you are trolling but the Xbox always had rechargeable battery packs and i prefer that to something that isn't replaceable. batteries don't recharge infinitely and can also be damaged from a multitude of other sources.

EDIT- Now that I think about it i don't want touch and gyroscope BS in my controller cuz I don't want that crap forced onto what would be a good game if not for the shoehorned gimicky bullcrap forced onto you. I'm looking at you Uncharted Golden Abyss.

Yeah, the whole "rechargeable battery integrated into controller" is a bad idea. I like the flexibility and ease of just swapping out standard batteries in my Xbox 360 controller.

I don't have to use a super short 6 ft cord to charge my controller, when I can use just use standard sized batteries available. Far cheaper, works better and is almost always available.

That's a lot of things for Sony to copy.

Oh yeah, a case that was designed before the internal components. That worked out great didn't it? I went through 6 Xbox 360's due to RRoD and the drives either destroying discs or failing. Great job they did with that. Let's say it can be done, but SHOULDN'T be done.
