Should God of War be reinvented or retold on the Playstation 4?

The God of War series and Kratos will always be cherished among the Playstation fan base. But at some point, everything must either come to an end or be reborn if it will stave off becoming mundane. The God of War series has had an excellent run. Not a good run or great run. An excellent run. But with the main story now completed, the series is reduced to prequels and side stories. Much like what has happened to Metal Gear (excluding Metal Gear Rising).

I love the franchise but give it a 4 year hiatus focus on the new ip Santa Monica is working on with Stig and Team A. Let Seth Killian reimagine Playstation all stars for PS4. Keep helping indies bring their games to PS4 and Vita.

A 4 year Hiatus is a stretch if you ask me. Though I can see an Uncharted get released before another GoW title.

Maybe they will let Heavenly sword fill its spot. Because i find it very strange that Tameem from Ninja Theory was in the Playstation 4 developer reel video when we all know how how much he has been bashing the sales of Heavenly sword and also blaming Sony for it. So maybe a Heavenly Sword 2 by NT or Santa Monica themselves, in anticipation for the movie.

But who know whats they will do i just think Sony is smart enough to give Kratos a little rest, focus on new IP's and bring him back for more slaughter half way into the next gen when the fanbase is established.

Actually I'm in the midst of playing the GoW games (4x HD remastered + GoW 3).
So far I've played it in the following order, 3,1,2, GoS and now at CoO.
After I've finished those I'll get Ascension, though what I noticed by playing these games back to back is that the story is a all over the place.

Not because I didn't go in order, there's a lot of blanks in the story that should be filled.
But man the story is really awesome (I like mythologies a lot).

Ghost of Sparta is definitely my favorite, as I liked a lot of the story elements.

In chaos which Aphrodite - somehow - the only still standing.

Sounds like they've got something to work with to me.

Norse mythology with a new protagonist pleaaaaaaaase! A man wants to clash with Thor and his hammer, Loki and his illusions, and Odin Allfather himself among many more! A man knows SSM would make these moments absolutely mind blowing on PS4!

Indeed. There are many possible pantheons to murder our way through.

Might be in a minority here but I didn't enjoy any of the sections playing as Atreus or having companions at all. If I had my way it'd be Kratos on his lonesome from start to finish. Straightforward action gameplay without the endless boring chatter.
