For gamers looking to record game footage for Xbox 360, PS3 and more, the Hauppauge HD PVR 2 Gaming Edition might just be the capture card for you.
Microsoft should rip this off for the design of the Xbox 3, looks pretty sweet. The share button on PS4 will make a lot of these devices obsolete.
I wouldn't really say they'll make them obsolete. A lot of people still make Let's Plays and video reviews using capture devices. Unless the PS4 can record hours upon hours of footage, and have the ability to edit the video as they please, they're not going anywhere. Plus, I'll have to rely on my Elgato to stream some PS4 games on Twitch or Livestream, because Ustream is absolute trash.
Yeah that's fair to say, I never meant all of them. At the minute, the only partner for streaming that is announced is Ustream, which I'll admit to never using so I have no opinion of it. In the future, perhaps even E3, they'll offer more choice and I would bet Twitch, Youtube and such will all be available at some point.
I don't think these things will become obsolete because a lot of "Let's Play" videos are retro, and you need a standard definition recorder to capture them, and I'm sure people will still do those videos for 360, PS3, Wii, Wii U ect... So I don't think we're in any danger of them not being popular, you also have to look at the people that play Call Of Duty and go through hours and hours of footage and like to edit things themselves, I myself do that with different games and use After Effects to edit, I still use a PVR even though games like Halo and Call Of Duty record for me.
Actually you're right, I didn't think it through.
