Obsidians Chris Avellone Interview: "How to make the Perfect NPC"

Excerpt Interview Chris Avellone Retrospective on his work.

“The way we approach characters in Obsidian, is that we try to examine the game mechanic of the title and try to make sure all of the companions you meet in the title compliment that- what I mean by that is..We look at things like “Hey New Vegas has a brand new reputation system” Once we know it’s a mechanic- we need to make sure all of the NPC’s you interactive with react to that system and compliment it in someway.” (Chris Avellone, Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout: New Vegas - Old World Blues, Obsidian Entertainment, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

Still. I probably would have never found the video if it weren't for the article.
Chris Avellone is a fantastic rpg designer and one of, if not the best, writers in industry.
Any talk from him on design, or the industry itself, is interesting to me.
