I picked this up on launch and as a Trek fan, I did my best to quell my anticipation. My expectations are always set high, but I somehow kept them rather modest.

That said, everything I had seen really screamed "Uncharted". All of the co-op aspects looked very much like Drake & Sully's interactions. Even the cover system and shooting mechanic looked similar.

I'm happy to say that, while on the heavily inspired side, Trek delivered. The likeness is accurate, the environments are varied and enjoyable, and the dynamic gameplay mechanic of both Kirk & Spock is refreshing, to say the least.

I haven't had an opportunity to play it co-op, but outside of a few geometry issues where Spock couldn't assist because he was clipped on a wall, or obstruction.

The music is cinematic, the effects are faithful...and I love the Tricorder functions and mini-games!

All in all, one of the best franchise tie-ins in some time. While definitely more of an action game, it's easily one of the best Trek games since, well...25th Anniversary/Judgment Rites (IMHO).

EDIT
I forgot to mention the Gorn. They did a fantastic job fleshing out the fan-favorite alien species. Back-story, classes of the species, their technology and intelligence. There are even a couple nods to TOS' "Arena" episode if you know where to look.
