I hope Metro:Last Light gets Steam Workshop support after launch
john2  +   944d ago
same here. Also the SDK release will be really huge if 4A Games manages to pull it off.
NYC_Gamer  +   944d ago
I'm Happy that 4A put 100% focus on the single player mode and are creating the multiplayer as its own stand alone project...Metro:Last Light would benefit huge from mods and other community features.

good to know this, just cancelled the preorder, I'll wait for the PS4 complete edition with all the DLC included

same, i hate it when my game collection feels incomplete
thechosenone  +   943d ago
So what's the point of releasing an SDK, I mean what can users do with it? Mods? 0.o
john2  +   943d ago
@thechosenone: Yeap, an SDK release is ideal for all sorts of mods and total conversions
thechosenone  +   943d ago

that's one thing I wasn't sure if Sony would allow next gen but it's looking like they will. Yay! :)

Wow if this game will have a PS4 port, that means a lot of games then should also be coming to PS4... I will indeed be getting it on PS4...

I mean if they can do it, then a lot of game companies should be able to do this too..

BF4 -(though it has not been confirmed they should have one ready for launch)
Rainbow Six - if they know what's good for them they will
Project Cars

Just to name a few... I mean if these guys can do it..

Also I love the idea of standalone Mp coming Later, Bioshock Infinite should have done that.. would have gave them enough time to make something really cool..

That's Mod-tastic. This game really is a looker....

I'm getting for PS4 as well. Except for those with the best gaming rigs, the wait will be worth it. Last Light looks spectacular and it'd be a shame to waste it on PS3/360/midrange PC.
Flipgeneral  +   943d ago
Hit the nail on the head there.

I said determined to purchasing it on ps3 as the lack of high fidelity would take me out of the immersion!

One of the games I'm waiting for, I really enjoyed Metro 2033.
Even though it's an FPS game there's something unique yet breathtaking about it.

Also...lol the games keep on coming, I'm gonna be broke with all these games coming out this year.

NOTE: something was left out of this article...

PS4 version of Metro: Last Light will probably come with Metro 2033.
It's part of the translation a forum member did on the official M:LL forum.

What so good about metro 2033? I didn't quite finish it but I am thinking of returning to it (I ve just finished the book .. so my interest in the game came back)
Arai  +   944d ago
The sphere the game got going on, it can be scary as hell sometimes.
The English-Russian voices make it even more believable....hard to explain it really.
The game should be dirt cheap by now though (last I saw it going for 5 USD on Steam).
ExCest  +   943d ago

Metro 2033 is not just dirt-cheap. The game is almost worthless now because of all those giveaways, official and third-party. Almost everyone who cared got one.

That's why I got one; that's why I played it. Great game and incredibly hard on Ranger-Hardcore.

5 DLC :O
Swiggins  +   944d ago
I hope they include the ability to play the entire game in Russian like they did with the last one...it made the whole experience seem that much more engaging.

Also, I'm so happy Playstation gamers get to play Metro 2033 when it gets bundled with Metro Last Light, that game was a gem, and it really was a shame it was a 360/PC exclusive when it came out.
Pintheshadows  +   944d ago
I got 2033 for £3.40 on Steam the other day. I hadn't played it before. Suffice to say that was one of the bargains of my life. Excellent game.
Rivitur  +   944d ago
4A already confirmed the ability to play in Russian with English subtitles.

the definitive version of all your games
Lior  +   944d ago
the definitive version? come back to me when you can play in the resolution of 2560 1440 with full anti aliasisng 8* and on very high preset
DOMination-  +   944d ago
You can run games at whatever resolution your monitor and gpu allows but uf its native 1080p it will look like ass so serious question as i am naive with pc gaming. What is the normal native resolution for pc games nowadays? Is there a current standard perhaps? I doubt most would be higher than 1080p.. Surely?

Truehellfire  +   943d ago
PC games don't have a native resolution. Almost all modern PC games support high resolution monitors (2560x1440/1600), with a good amount supporting ultra wide resolutions (5760x1080/1200p). However, games with low quality textures will kind of ruin having a high resolution monitor, seeing as the textures look blurry and completely defeat the purpose of a high res screen.
BitbyDeath  +   943d ago
@Lior, if you buy a 4K TV you'll see it in 3840 × 2160.
humbleopinion  +   941d ago
Hilarious. Someone actually mentions " 2560 1440 with full anti aliasisng 8* and on very high preset" in an article about a Metro game. I almost cracked myself.

Need I remind the fanboys that at this resolution, the last Metro game can't even keep 30fps very high preset on a PC equipped with a 1000$ 690GTX. And that is at 4xMSAA, not 8x....

So how is anyone expecting a new Metro game which is far more demanding to actually be playable at this resolution? The Metro devs are not well known for running an efficient game engine.
While it's obvious that the PS4 version will be far from the definitive version, some PC fanboys are still clearly living in Lala-land.

With 2033 you say?
I've already bought it on PS4.

Cool. I'm a PC and console gamer, but its great that Last Light will be coming out on PS4.
Eldyraen  +   944d ago
Totally agree--have it preordered on steam already and possible sdk support is awesome news.

I may have to rent it on PS4 though as I probably won't mind playing it again at some point and just want to see how it runs on next gen hardware. That is when other games don't monopolize my free time. Still, great news for Sony fans and have a feeling we will likely see it on next Xbox at some point as well then.
KwietStorm  +   944d ago
Cool. I get to save money now and put it toward Remember Me and The Last of Us. Good thing it got delayed or I would've been pissed.
WeskerChildReborned  +   944d ago
Awesome, might get this on PS4 if i decide not to get in on PC.
MasterCornholio  +   944d ago
So no Wii U?

Edit: Weren't these the devs who called the Wii Us CPU garbage? Or am I mistaken.

5 DLC, annnnnd i'm not buying it.
SlapHappyJesus  +   943d ago
Why not?
The DLC they have planned, were you to read the article, will be story based and be set in the point of view of other characters.
This doesn't seem to be a case of cut content. Very much its own thing. If you don't want it, you don't need to buy it.
mep69  +   944d ago
Urgh DLC planned..... Instantly feel put off ¬_¬ sigh
Rhezin  +   943d ago
why would I get it on PS4 if its coming out on PS3 in over two weeks? PASS, I'll be entering the Metro once agaaain May 14th.
ExCest  +   943d ago
Well, the PS3 version will look significantly worse than the PS4 version. Also, I'm pretty sure the PS4 version will have better physics.

If looks don't matter to you, then go for the PS3 version. I won't stop you.
VersaVulture89  +   943d ago
I'm hoping a lot of people still buy this game on current generation consoles. If it doesn't sell well, do you think it will still make it to the PS4? I'll support the game for current consoles and if it hits the PS4, I'd love to compare the games. Too many games that I've loved have been considered failures because of sales.
MuhammadJA  +   943d ago
This is great news! I'm sure the PC version will be the best one! If the PS4 version will support mods, then they'll be equal.
LAWSON72  +   943d ago
No they wont the pc version will support higher settings for example ps4 is limited to 1080p and only 30 fps (most likely). PC can support 1440p and over 60fps.

Let's hope MLL is a bit better this time coz 2033 was Terrible, but Fantastic
SlapHappyJesus  +   943d ago
People, considering they are planning on grabbing PS4 (and potentially next gen xbox), should just grab the next gen version.
While 4A did a really good job with Metro:2033 - one of the best looking console releases, in my opinion - it did pale in comparison to the PC version. This would be doubly so for Last Light. With a next gen version, people should be getting an experience closer to what will be seen in the PC version.
JohnApocalypse  +   943d ago
Does it really need a PS4 port? Someone who buys a PS4 at launch probably has owned one of the systems to play Last Light on already

Bathyj  +   943d ago
Thats very bold of them to announce a next gen version just weeks away from the current gen releasing. It will be interesting to see if this canibalizes their sales and whether other devs do this also.
Ozmoses  +   943d ago
reminds me I should turn on my Xbox and give Metro: 2033 a whirl.

I heard it was a pretty decent game.. plus I have always been intrigued by the cranking mechanism for the flashlights...

I've just been playing all the other stuff.. hard to keep up if you buy a lot of games... I never have enough time to play them all or so it seems.

I actually just bought this the other day. It's pretty hard to find apparently according to the Gamestop stores near my house. I'm pre-ordering Last Light even though I haven't started the original just so I can guarantee my copy. If I end up loving 2033, I'll need to play Last Light.
Ozmoses  +   943d ago
Yeah I bought it online awhile ago from amazon. I just haven't got around to playing it..

I've heard good things though.
