James Pungello of VGU.TV takes a look at the new Star Trek game that bridges the gap between the first and second movies in the new series.
I've never been a Star Trek fan but I just completed this game today. Played it through coop with a friend & while it does have a few bugs we had a blast. Alot of different elements from alot of different games are present. Cross between Gears of war/future soldier cover system. Unchrted like platforming & puzzles, Batman Arkham series type hacking/detective mode but it's mostly scanning & hacking & seeing cloaked enemies using your tricorder. I'd give it a 8.9 outta 10 because of the bugs & some of the cutscenes aren't the best looking but the gameplay is downright beautiful & has a good mix of gameplay with a great story with enough depth to the gameplay to last throughout the adventure. There's one nasty bug that needs to be patched. You can get around it if you don't play it stealthy like your supposed to on the mission. The last part of a sneak route you can fall through the environment. If you go & kill everything & go the different route to the door you can avoid it but your suppose to be able to play it stealthy. I thought I might like the game just from watching the gameplay videos but it's one of the better games I've played lately. I like it many times better than I thought I would & has got me interested in watching the original show plus the old & new movies.
