There can be good things said for simplifying certain actions within a game. An example would be better companion management in Fallout:New Vegas versus Fallout 3. EVE Online is getting some modifications to make starbases easier to use in its upcoming Odyssey patch. It could be considered watering down, but more along the lines of improving quality of life instead.

Shoving cutscenes in everywhere? Bah!

Splinter Cell was one of my favorite franchises on the original Xbox. But after the last game, and seeing what they've done to this one, it's not even on my radar anymore.

I don't like what they did to it or where they're taking the next game.
