Splinter Cell Blacklist: Does watering down the game soup lose the flavour?

MWEB GameZone takes a look at Splinter Cell: Blacklist as an example of how video game developers compromise quality over costs.

The story is too old to be commented.

There can be good things said for simplifying certain actions within a game. An example would be better companion management in Fallout:New Vegas versus Fallout 3. EVE Online is getting some modifications to make starbases easier to use in its upcoming Odyssey patch. It could be considered watering down, but more along the lines of improving quality of life instead.

Shoving cutscenes in everywhere? Bah!

I don't mind if a game looks crap visually as long as there is a good plot and challenging game play.

Splinter Cell was one of my favorite franchises on the original Xbox. But after the last game, and seeing what they've done to this one, it's not even on my radar anymore.

I don't like what they did to it or where they're taking the next game.
