It Is Over - Tales of Vesperia PS3 Is Not Being Localized

PlayStation Euphoria: Four years ago, Namco Bandai released a PS3 port of Tales of Vesperia for the Japanese audience and ever since then, there has been a localization petition group for Tales of Vesperia with over 2000 likes. However, this week, it has been halted and they have lost. Namco Bandai have been firm with its fans and the Facebook group that they are not localizing the Tales of Vesperia PS3 port.

'Da hell, man?! Namco you idiots.

chrispseuphoria1256d ago

Well at least they've brought out Ni No Kuni and are releasing Tales of Xillia later this year.

I respect your positive outlook, but what has those games got to do with Vesperia? That's one more cannon game that we miss out on. Why not this game too? If it's the cost of localization, why not work with Atlus USA (Who has helped most JRPG dev in the last 10 years with western localization)? They can split the cost of localization, utilize Atlus's AMAZING localization team/voice actors, and Atlus could co-pubish it in the U.S., while Namco retains all rights (like Demon's Souls).

Why isn't Namco thinking harder?

@Donnieboi
Microsoft paid for the translation in the same way Nintendo paid for the Tales of Symphonia translation so no PS2 Symphonia.

chrispseuphoria1256d ago

I see your point, Donnieboi. NIS America are actually localizing Time and Eternity which was created by Namco Bandai so yeah, they could do the same with Tales of Vesperia.

the game is 4 years old and they dont think it will make money. USA is more xbox than ps3 so they dont see it as viable.

I just wish these companies would have a English translator in japan to put subs on games as they are made. I want xillia 1 and 2 now!!! same with yakuza 5 and kenzan

It kinda pisses me off. I mean if it's really MS that is the factor preventing it from happening(which some think it is and if certain things said are true then they likely are) that sucks.

I remember awhile back there talk about it and they originally did intend to do it and several of the english voice actors were asked and some said they had already completed recording for the PS3 version and the additional content, other actors had not so it's likely Namco Bandai intended to release the PS3 version here(hence having the actors voice the added PS3 stuff) but then they were forced not to finish it for legal reasons.

It sucks cause so far Vesperia was my favorite game in the series and I really wanted to play the definitive version of it.

Stupid move, Namco. Don't you want my money?!

Pozzle1256d ago

Damn. I thought it would have eventually made its way here. :(

SonyNGP1256d ago (Edited 1256d ago )

You know guys. You can still get it on the 360 if you really want to play this game :/

@chrispseuphoria

I'm aware of that. All I'm saying is that you can still play the game, sans extra content. It's better than nothing if you ask me.

chrispseuphoria1256d ago

You know that this version had extra content right?

Inception1256d ago (Edited 1256d ago )

Or buying the import version and play it with walkthrough. There's a lot of english walkthrough for PS3 ver on the net, complete with every dialogue translation if you don't understand japanese.

One of the BEST Tales game in the series. Loved every minute of the game when I played it for 360. Would have definitely re-played it with the added content the PS3 received.
