Dead Island Riptide Review | The Controller Online

TCO writes:

"Dead Island Riptide was one of my most anticipated games of this year, as I absolutely loved the first game and couldn’t wait to see what our group of survivors were up to this time around. I mean, it’s an Open World, First-Person Shooter with RPG elements that has you killing zombies, exploring a huge island and collecting loot. Its got a little bit of everything that I love about video games and I couldn’t have been more excited when I got my hands on the “sequel” last week." (Dead Island Riptide, PC, PS3, Xbox 360) 9/10

9/10 eh??

That's encouraging. I loved the plagued original to death!

And from IGN review, it sounds like the state of Dead Island Riptide isn't much different.

Hopefully that means I'll fall in love with it.

PS:
"there should be more Firearms available at the very start of the game."

I disagree, I like how it's primarily melee, with guns/ammo being rare. Otherwise it'd be too much like Left4Dead

I've played the game. It is the same game, with different side quests mechanics (a better, more direct approach). The setting is awful, using boats is terrible.

Everything else is equal.

So, as I'd rate the first a solid 9, this one is a 8.5. It does almost nothing better than the previous game and some things are worse.

Still a great game, though, very worth the money of the fans.

Have played for about 7-8 hours and I'm still only at 33% of the story quests...
