Matter Of Perspective: The Assassins

The Assassins of the Assassin’s Creed games are a group presented to us as heroes, defenders who will do anything to make sure people stay free and are not brought under the control of the Templar Order. After all, they’re the bad guys who just want to control the world and force everyone to live their way... (Assassin's Creed, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

That was a good read but i get a feeling that the writer and the folks posting on the sites forms never read AC forsaken. It's a must read for any AC junkie and you'll see that AC3 stayed true to the story.

You're correct in that I haven't read Forsaken. I'll look it up.

Totally agree with this. I imagine it like most parliaments - conservatives vs progressives, where one side dominating completely would create a harmful, extremist outcome.

The Assassins are chaos and the templars order, and balanced coexistence is the only future for the two orders. It would be interesting to see someone try and tread the line between assassin and templar without outright conforming to one organisation.
Much like the Witcher, where if you're forced to take sides, you take the side which is losing to maintain the crucial balance.
The choice between Templar and Assassin would also allow for decision-based gameplay, where you may align with templars on some issues and assassins on others.

Of course, the analogical "witcher way" would be to ensure that you try and maintain neutrality throughout the game and don't lean too heavily on one side.
It'd certainly be a great way to mix up the series a bit.
