Dead Island Riptide review | IGN

IGN: "I seriously love Dead Island Riptide for its satisfying zombie dismemberment and co-op, but technically, it's done nothing to build itself into a great game. Rather than fix the graphics and the performance problems that plagued the original two years ago, Techland slightly modified the setting and delivered a new character and more content. It’s a fun time, but there are no surprises or killer new features to make it an impressive package." (Dead Island Riptide, PC, PS3, Xbox 360) 7.2/10

I wasn't excpecting higher scores but I'm still very disappointed. With Dead Island, they had the basis to make an insanely better game but appearently didn't take the opportunity. That's too bad. I might still enjoy this one, as much as I enjoyed the first flawed one.

7.2 = above average. So what so disappointing. Most games are overrated when they get 9/10.

What I'm getting from theses reviews is that, if you enjoyed the first one with all it's problems and graphical style, this game is the same and you might like this one as well.

A new character, new setting and more weapons. I just hope that save bug is not in it again.

That's what I'm getting, and I'm not being fooled twice. The *only* thing salvageable in the first game was playing coop with your friends, which could be fun. The sheer amount of bugs, questionable design decisions, and sloppy melee mechanics was too much to see passed that most of the time though.

The bad ratings this game is getting means nothing to me! My copy from, amazon has already shipped. Loved the first one. Gonna love this one too.

same here, more Dead Island is all I want. The 1st one was a blast.

I'm going to give this one a miss. The first game was decent, but was plagued by bugs and glitches.

such a good concept this team has or rather had, yet they fail to listen to their fans or much less the whole gaming community and release the same crap :/.....another dev should take this idea and copyright it to create the true dead island, this team is obviously going to pull a call of duty and release the same crap every time.

7 out of 10 is quite fair considering there´s no other games like this (co-op melee based zombie game) out there.

Some strong competition for Dead Island (as an online co-op experience that is) could be a good thing.
