The Evil Within Has a Lot of Work to Do to Fix Horror Games

Today was the big sort of, almost reveal of Shinji Mikami’s first new title since forming his own studio, Tango Gameworks, in 2010. The game was formerly known as Project Zwei and now we at least have a title for it; The Evil Within. There is a lot of hype and talk surrounding the title, with many within the industry expecting Mikami to do something drastic to try to revive the struggling genre that is horror games right now, but it may be a bit more of a struggle for him and his team to bring horror games back to prominence than anyone expected. (Next-Gen, PC, PS3, The Evil Within, Xbox 360)

Just follow the lead of Amnesia if you want to make a survival horror game in the modern era.

If anyone can fix the horror genre than Mikami is certainly the one to do it.
