Preview: Doing Business with the Spirits in Sony's Twisted Soul Sacrifice

Push Square: "Soul Sacrifice, the nightmarish action title dreamed up by Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune, has already gained one stellar review in Japan, giving the PlayStation Vita a prolonged shot in the arm in the process. With the imminent Western release just a few weeks away, Sony’s released a gigantic playable demo for the title in both Europe and North America, and based on our generous playthrough, owners of the handheld are in for one hell of a treat." (PS Vita, Soul Sacrifice)

I really enjoyed the demo, it's been a while that I took my Vita to work with me and played it on my way there and back home. While I have downloaded a lot of the new releases, they don't really keep my attention like a full retail title would and Soul Sacrifice showed me that. I'm not saying those indie titles are bad, it's just that I have been waiting for a full retail title to play on my Vita for a long time and SS helps to fill that void.

Maybe after I complete SS, I can enjoy some of the recently released indie titles that I have bought for the Vita.

Have you tried DoA 5+, P4:Golden, Disgaea 3, or Gravity Rush for Vita yet, all of those are great games.

I had Gravity Rush, Disgaea and P4: Golden at the time of their releases. AC:L, COD:D, NFS:MW and many others, I still current own. And I have a great deal of Indie titles, that I have played, but not completed. DOA+, is not the type of fighting game I'm into, but enjoyable. That was just from playing the demo.

Guacamelee is a good buy. right now i'm playing Gravity Rush. i did finish LBP, Uncharted and God of War (PSP) games though.

OT: great demo. i hope to finish Gravity Rush by this game releases. But i always wondered what happens if i "forgive" the girl instead of sacrificing her. just curious. i should have. she was so nice. lol. though i must say it took me time to get used to it because i jumped right after i finished Guacamelee and the combat buttons are different.

Guacamelee is good, but it's not really a lasting experience. I bought it on my Birthday and platinumed it on the same day. Not that it is a bad thing, just hard to say it will eat up time.

As far as forgiving the girl, she just comes back till you sacrifice her.

I have Guacamelee, played maybe 2-3 minutes of it. Not a bad game at all, I just need something bigger before I go to a indie game to hold me over until the next big retail release.

I have LBPV, beat it, but never really been a big fan of the series to go and do anything else with the game. I just needed something to play during my free time away from school and work.

If you really want to know, PM me and I will tell you. I hate to spoil that section of the demo/game for everyone. Especially if they are holding out on playing the game until the full release or just haven't reached that part of the demo yet.

wow... you guys are fast. it took me 19 hours to finish Guacamelee. thanks to some parts where i have to press 6/7 buttons in coordination within 0.2 secs to reach some places. and not to forget all that extra explorations i did.

yeah... i suck.

and oh.. about that "sacrifice" part... i can always go back and replay the chapter but when i do that will it affect the progress. am just curious. okay.. what the hell, PM me. lol.

EDIT: and what's with the alert i get when i reply to my own post? pretty stoopid if you ask me.

The demo is great fun and i just got my tax refund so Soul Sacrifice is a day 1 buy for me but now my only problem is buying the hard copy or digital download i'm down to 5gbs on my 32gb memory stick.

I have to get the retail copy. I have no space on my 32GB card because most of my games are downloaded and on my card.

I also just paid my retail copy off at GameStop, but I'm hoping there would be a sale on it during the week it releases. Directly or indirectly including it.

I need more memory omg Soul Sacrifice can't wait for the full game. I'm not normally into those types of games but this game is so fun and new to me. ^~^ Happy hunting!
