Attack of the clones: nine of the best, cheapest rip-offs on Xbox

OXM UK: "In this week's round-up of cutthroat bargains. we pay homage to games that pay homage to other games by ripping their guts out and stuffing them hurriedly into their own, echoing, under-nourished abdominal cavities. It's tempting to censure developers when they transplant ideas from other titles - but at the end of the day, borrowing often entails improvement, and if an idea's good, why not have more of it?" (Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Lost Odyssey, Saints Row 2, Xbox 360)

I wouldn't say Lost Odyssey was a rip off of Final Fantasy, it was it's own thing. If you are going to say Lost Odyssey is a rip off of something then the same can be said about most JRPG's, they all have something in common with each other.

I wouldn't call Lost Odyssey a rip off either, sure MISTWALKER took some of the best stuff from older FF games an implemented them fantastically in LO but to call it a rip off is just wrong.

If anything LO is more of a tribute to what was once great franchise called Final Fantasy and to me LO feels more like true FF game than that PO sh!t game that I promised my self would never speak the name again.

Saints Row 1 is a rip off to San Andreas but its a dam good rip off and worth my money and time.

I agree. Just remember that in the video game industry there is a fine line between homage and ripoff.

Ninja Blade. What didn't that game ripoff?

I don't care what the id fanbase says, Rage ripped off Fallout and Borderlands.

Except Rage was announced before Borderlands? And Rage and Fallout share the same parent company. Soooo... I don't see where you're going with this.

PS - Total Borderlands fanboy here. Just calling a spade a spade.
