Ode To The JRPG Mini-Game

Kotaku: "During the two-and-a-half decades I've been playing JRPGs, I've learned three important lessons: 1) If an NPC tells you a rumor, it's true; 2) All valuables are hidden in bookshelves; and 3) Mini-games are almost always better than real games."

The story is too old to be commented.

I loved that card game from FF 8.

I loved it in both 8 and 9. Hope they bring cards back at some point. I'd be really happy to see them in VersusXIII, you know... Whenever that comes out...

I never got how FF9 Tetra Master was meant to play, out of luck i collected all the cars :/

FF7 had a lot of minigames i hope FFXV get to.

I loved FFVIII's card game, FFX-2's card game, FFVII's snowboarding (actually, all of the Golden Saucer), FFX's blitzball - now that I think about it, the FF series has definitely had some GDLK mini-games.

The card game in FF8 was great, Blitzball in 10 was awesome - heck even learning the al behd language was fun. Most recent JRPGs and none of the westerns have incorporated anything of this nature which in my opinion is atleast part of the reason the interest in them has slowly dissipated.
