Ouya, delays and bad reception

The Ouya was viewed with some suspicion after the announcement and campaign on Kickstarter and unfortunately it seems to do the best service to provide a good image. Despite appearing to have met the deadline in March, in fact just a very small number of consoles was sent leaving much of the outside backers. The promise now is that until the end of May all consoles will be sent but this means that many will receive your console very close to the official release. What then was the advantage of supporting the console during the campaign on Kickstarter? (Android, Ouya)

I never had any high hopes for OUYA and there are some obvious reasons for that.
