Here’s A Look At The Internal Release Dates For Nintendo

An internal document leaking Nintendo's tentative release schedule for the rest of this year has been made available online.

Yesterday we finally got a release date of August 4th for Pikmin 3, but it turns out the above memo that has been circulating around 4chan’s /v/ community was leaked before the Nintendo PR email that went out confirming the release date. With that in mind, let’s have a look at what’s on the docket for future release.

Perhaps one of the most interesting things on this sheet is the fact that Super Mario Galaxy 2 seems to have been in consideration as a port from Wii to Wii U. The release was supposed to include a soundtrack CD, but it looks as if this project has been put on hold. Moving on from there, we see several accessory releases scheduled and The Wonderful 101 set for some time in July.

lol, the fact that the title of the document is "Super Secret" leads me to believe that this is completely fabricated.

But if it is accurate, then this fall looks to be a good season for the Wii U.

Commandar_Shepard1197d ago

This. The title and the fact that every game we hardly know much about is listed for Fall instead of specific months or Holiday makes me very skeptical.

MikeMyers1197d ago

Zelda
Bayonetta 2
Mario Kart
Xenoblade
Super Smash Bros

All listed for Fall? Yeah sure. As if Nintendo would release Super Smash Bros., Zelda, and Mario Kart in the same season, let alone the same year.

Zhipp1197d ago

I don't believe it either. That said, if, by some miracle, this list is right, and Smash Bros launches this Fall, I will shit myself. I can already feel my bowels roiling at the very thought.

AJBACK2FRAG1197d ago

I hear you. Mario Kart U and Super Smash Bros. U are supposed to be shown playable at e3 right?

TotalSynthesisX1196d ago

I hear ya, bro. Smash4life.

Excellent detective work!

Alternatively, you could have noticed that the list has several release dates that have already passed which do NOT match up with the actual release dates of those games (i.e. Fire Emblem Awakening) indicating that the list is undoubtedly fake.

I literally lol'd when I went to the page and saw that.

Anyways, even if it is real, it is old. Wonderful 101 had a July release date on the systems launch. It got pushed back about a month after the system launch. Then of course many of those other titles weren't known about, and it's unlikely they would have a "Super Secret" document like this floating around to begin with, even if internal.

I do believe the Pikmin release date was rumored a month or so ago before this document popped up.

Dates may be fake but it goes to show you they have some great games coming to the Wii U.

Man oh man if this list is real (which I don't believe because of the title like Neonridr said).

BlackWolf1197d ago (Edited 1197d ago )

Seems pretty doubtful. It's better to be skeptical about this list. But if it turns out to be true, the system's sales could go up a lot in fall.

Ilovetheps41197d ago

I highly doubt a company would put SUPER SECRET bolded and in a different font on the page. It just has nothing legitimate about it in my opinion.

animegamingnerd1197d ago

the only thing about this that makes me skeptical is that i heard this was leak before yesterday which was when pikimin 3's release date was announced and this paper states the release date which is august 4th

gamer421197d ago

I saw this around 4chan I kinda thought it was bs, especially the August release of pikmin, So when nintendo announced it, I couldn't believe it. Maybe it was a lucky guess? who knows, but if it's true, OMG!!! SKY ROCKET SALES!!!!

admiralvic1197d ago

Possible, though the release dates don't make a lot of sense. Currently we have next to zero information on Bayonetta 2, Mario Kart Wii U, Super Smash Bros Wii U, yet Nintendo plans to not only release them this year, but pretty much blow every release on this quarter? It just doesn't make sense from any standpoint... especially with how the Wii U sales are. Sure it might be overkill for Xmas, but it will lead to another year of "this is all we have to play" / "no reason to turn it on".

secretcode1197d ago

Oh yeah, because a list that's leaving out several already confirmed titles that are coming this year sure is accurate...
