'Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag' will be a unique experience like never before

Assassin's Creed" is one of the most beloved franchises in gaming, with its most recent installment selling well over 12 million copies, but its next installment is looking to put a fresh spin on the wildly popular series.

In an exclusive interview with Examiner.com, "Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag" game director Ashraf Ismail took the time to discuss what Ubisoft learned from the previous installment in the series, the type of individual Edward Kenway is, the open world of "Assassin's Creed 4," the journey gamers will take to create their ultimate ship and the gameplay people can expect. (Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, PC, PS3, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

Don't they say this every year with each new installment?
Root  +   1030d ago
Yeah they do

It's basicaly milking the naval missions in AC3 and making a game out of it. Which is why I still believe this should be AC3: Black Flags.

If it's mostly naval missions which not everyone liked then they should of just either created a new pirate IP with it or done something else.

I mean doing something we've seen in the last game isn't really an unique experience

with each assassin they change the number, which is why this is 4. AC3: liberation was a completely different story, due to the crossover it pretty much had to be a part of 3. This is a completely different time with a new assassin...it had to be 4. And the game is not just "milking the naval missions in AC3 and making a game out of it." Ubisoft has gone into detail many times about the different islands and exotic locations you get to explore on foot.

Yeah but this guy is Connors grandfather, he's related more to Connor by only two generations. While the others have been generations apart.

They could of done two spin offs off Assassins Creed 3. This one with Haythams father and then Haytham himself in the next one.

My guess would be because the real story has been about Desmond. Desmond's story was completed in AC3. A numbered title suggests a main entry in the series but the subheading shows it's a slight spin off. That's what it looks like to me anyway

i'm not a fan of the franchise have played some of them but found them to be a bit repetitive.

this is the first one i'm going to be open minded about and might buy purely because

1. it's it's a launch title

2. i like the whole pirate setting,
could be great to rob boats hunt them down have a shoot out (which on a boat with only side cannons is quite a nice change and can be quite tactical)

3. there could be a massive map with lots of different city's / country's to roam through.

so for me this could indeed be a very different assassins creed game

Itd be interesting if they switched to a first person perspective and incorporated mirrors edge style running/gameplay mecahnics.

That's actually a pretty good idea. I'm not a fan of AC but I would love to see a first person AC game.
HeavenlySnipes  +   1030d ago
lol call me when they add real stealth to their ASSASSIN franchise then I'll believe them
Sandmano  +   1030d ago
No but they Really mean it this time :P
lovegames718  +   1030d ago
Yeah right. It will be monotonous and repetitive as hell like most open world games, especially Assn Creed.

So many haters, if you hate the game so much...why are you reading about it? I love the AC series, and I'm pumped about Black Flag.
matrixman92  +   1030d ago
me too... i dont get why people bother. I am personally pumped for this game, 100% completed every other AC game and cant wait to complete this one.

Enough with Milking the franchise. I like AC but am tired of hearing about it. Plus I have a friend that whenever the subject of that game comes up he NEVER STFU about it.
Daver  +   1030d ago
Maybe it will be but even if the naval part was my favorite in assassins creed 3 Ill pass on this one. they need to take a little break
SlapHappyJesus  +   1030d ago
Now you'll be a Pirate-Assassin!
Bonerboy  +   1029d ago
Yeah! Our game has gotten so stale we need to use sex to sell it !!! Wont even bother to look at this game
sir_fortesque  +   1027d ago
I was a little disappointed with AC3 but I still enjoyed it. If I could only get one game per year, AC4 wouldn't be it. It's not even in my top 10, but I will still be getting it because I like the series.
