Do We Really Need Movie Adaptations of Video Games?

GamerFitNation: Movie adaptations of video games are a somewhat common occurrence for our culture in recent times. People get excited because they want to see their favorite game portrayed on the big screen. Other people get anxious because they are unsure whether the games they love could ever work as a movie. Regardless of the fear or excitement, movie adaptations of video games do happen. Unfortunately, they tend to be less than average quality. (Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Culture, PS3, Shadow of the Colossus, Silent Hill, Wii, Xbox 360)

I think some games suit them more than others. Assassin's Creed would make a great movie. Pikamin would not.

Nothing is needed.
Nothing is wrong with it though.

Just do it right. Don't approach it as a movie, but as an extension of the games. At the end of the day, you are selling this thing to gamers. At least you should be.

Yes! But good ones, of course. Uwe Boll need not apply.

Give me amazing movie series on BioShock, Assassin's Creed and Mass Effect, please.
