Analyst: US sales trends will remain negative until GTAV

The NPD Group will report United States industry sales tomorrow and the results will not be pretty, nor will they turn around anytime soon. That's the opinion of Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia, who told investors today that March sales are expected to be down 10-15 percent.

I'm buying the Last Of Us....

Yeah same here, although I do believe the next GTA will be the best selling game this year, I also believe The Last Of Us will sell very well aswell. I think it will also sell alot of ps3 units aswell if sony announces a price cut for the ps3 & bundle it with The Last Of Us for $199. I can really see alot of ppl who would buy a ps3 just to play that game alone. Sony are doing a great job right now.

I know quite a few of my friends that own a 360 that are buying ps3 just to play last of us. That game is gonna be effing awesome.

Minato I wouldn't be surprised. I just hope that the multiplayer can be some form of like zombies like to also draw in those who love zombies in call of duty. Especially with runners and clickers & the last of us graphics, that would be tons of fun.

I'm interested to see if GTA still has the same influential status it had during GTA IV's release. It's been so long since then and IV disappointed many fans because it wasn't San Andreas. Not to mention the rise in popularity of Call Of Duty.

My biggest concern is the lack of a technological leap.

GTA V is still running on the same hardware that GTA IV did (on consoles anyway). They can optimize the crap out of it but something HAS to give running on such old hardware, and I imagine it'll either be AI, graphics or on-screen action.

Whatever it is that Rockstar sacrifices I'm curious how much that will play a part in the overall gameplay experience and the word of mouth marketing it generates (for better or worse)?

I actually agree for once with one of these fresh butt plucked analyses. Last of Us will be a big hit, but other than that there's nothing earth shatterring until GTA and PS4.
