Battlefield 4 set to bring back old feature

When Battlefield 3 was released many gamers were hoping the Commander Mode would be available as this was a popular feature in BF2. Rumours suggesting this will be making a comeback in Battlefield 4 give us reason to question whether this old feature will return in the upcoming game with the addition of three playable factions. (Battlefield 4, EA, PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

It better, I missed the commander mode from BF2.

It would be nice if there were more factions than just three! Add the British and a few more and some customizable gear for the soldiers!

I was pissed when they took the commander out of BF3. I just hope they don't stick it in there just to say they did it. They could do so much more with the commander than UAV's, supply drops, air strikes, and orders. Develop the commander and what they can do. Make them matter in a match but also make it so the commander feature can be turned on and off in servers for those that don't like it.

Commander mode is an ancient old relic that had its time back in 2006, but will be criticized highly when the game is released by the CoD fanboyistic reviewers as IGN, KOTAKU etc. DICE should leave this feature out for the sake of the reviews just because people want the freedom to "PFTO how that want to" ... and will not want someone "telling" or instructing them what to do. That's why CoD is so popular. It gives people the opportunity to run around and PTFO the way that want to. Anything restrictive or slows down the pace of the game, will be destroyed in the reviews by biased reviewers who truly do have CoD in the blood. For that reason, DICE should leave that feature out of BF4. BC2 and BF3 sold millions of copies without that.

So? Clans wanted to be able to use more than 4 letters for clan tags, does that mean we still accept 4? Hell no! BC2 had like 8 or something, BF3 promised full clan support but limiting clan tags to the same as CoD4 of just 4 letters is just a slap in the face.

We also wanted to see more then 4 in a squad.

I don't mind the feature being brought back if it's just supply drops/uav/air strikes (though those air strikes shouldn't be allowed in something like rush and shouldn't be very powerful, make them as powerful as a mortar strike in bf3).

But there's no way I'm going to take orders from some random douche who thinks he knows how to play the game better than I do and believes he is the key to whether or not we win the match, when all he's doing is sitting back there playing a non-crucial support role. I already know how to play the objective.

Having a bunch of servers where you'll get kicked off because you're not basing your every action on what some random guy says, even though you are playing the objective perfectly by yourself and are doing way more for your team than the commander, would ruin the battlefield experience for me.

In all honesty, Commander mode does not need to return. People just want it in because they forgot how it was only useful for spamming airstrikes.
