Edge- Fire Emblem: Awakening Review

Edge:Awakening offers an excellent game of strategy, but it’s the relationship system that makes it. It’s why your heart will rapidly find its way to your mouth when you realise you’ve left your last remaining healer one square away from safety. It’s why you’ll grip your 3DS tight as an enemy bears down on a beloved mage who’s down to a sliver of health, and punch the air as the knight in the adjacent square leaps across, blocks the incoming blow and one-shots the attacker. It’s a game where care and attention off the battlefield is as much a winning tactic as canny unit placement on it. Awakening is a richer, deeper game as a result. (3DS, Fire Emblem: Awakening) 9/10

This game is awesome. The gameplay is as addicting as ever, and the game does so many of the little things right in addition to that. The relationship building system is amazing. You really do get to know these characters, and almost all of them are endearing. The support and Barracks scenes may seem simple, but it adds so much to the gameplay. I was surprised at the sense of panic I felt when one of my units was close to death.

In addition to that, the soundtrack is great, the cut scenes are stylish, and there's a lot of replay value thanks to spot pass and DLC.

Very pleased with this game so far. So much better than Shadow Dragon.
