5 Reasons Why An “Always On” Console Would Suck

"As much as I’d like to make some sort of comparison to the matter at hand with, let’s say, a radiated shaving blade that’s been dipped in a military-grade sulfuric acid and used as a cheese grater on one’s unmentionables, I think it’s best to jump right into the current motif.

The CEO of Ubisoft stated the following when asked about always-on consoles: “Well, that’s a question you should put to Microsoft and Sony! I would say that a lot of people are already always online through other devices – I would suspect that the audience is ready.”

I didn't write this to be a troll. I don't even browse all these articles.

I wrote this because it's something that would affect myself and a whole lot of other people.

Apparently my timing wasn't great.

It would affect people if their was truth to it. But writing this after 500 other articles about the same thing just because a few fanboys cheer it on and a few sheep believe it is a waste of peoples time. But considering many would still be stupid enough to hit the link means you probably won't have worry about losing your internet because the hits will pay the bills.

My biggest problem with the Xbox being "always online" is Kinect. How do I know big brother isn't watching and listening 24/7? Sure, I could just unplug Kinect, but that means pulling my TV out and figuring out which wire is which. That's a lot of trouble to hide from the demons at Microsoft.

Better than a "always Off" console
