Resident Evil Revelations is scarier on consoles | Destructoid

Destructoid: "I've played what looks to be about half of the upcoming console release of Resident Evil: Revelations this past week. I'd write an in-depth preview for you if we hadn't talked so much about it already. Instead, I'm here to give you a quick rundown on why I think Revelations is a great fit for consoles as well as a few new impressions."

About time, the only scary resident evil for me was Outbreak 1 and 2.

Those in HD and online support would be pretty awesome.

Great news for old school RE fans. More survival horror :)

I won't be supporting this game on the console nomatter how scary it is. I will play it on my 3DS since that is the platform the game was designed for. If Capcom want to regain my trust in Resident Evil for home consoles they will need to start from scratch and make a new survival horror entry specifically for home consoles. Resi Revelations may seem like a good "substitute" and I may come across as a bit of a jackass, but Capcom are to blame for me feeling this way. After all the harsh stuff they have pulled on us gamers over the years by neglecting our wants, stupid dlc and overall horrible ethics I think my attitude is justified.

I will only start purchasing Capcom games again when they put the effort in (which they did for the 3DS).

This is them "testing the waters" and finding out definitively if there is a market for survival horror RE games on consoles. Not buying it out of spite is simply sending the wrong message.

Buying it for its intended console IS sending the right message and it is what I plan to do.

If you already bought it then why do you care if other people are getting it on their platform of choice?

Capcom sucks; but this is a good move since not everyone decided to waste money on that overhyped handheld.

I never said I own the game, I said I plan to buy it on 3DS. I certantly never mentioned anything along the lines of caring if other people decide to support the game or not. The post was entirely focused on me, my opinion on the matter and what I plan to do (I believe in speaking with my wallet and if other people want to do the same as me, but choose to support the game I have no issues).

Just to clear it up in short... it's your money and do what you like :-)

I'm sure you (one person) buying it for 3DS rather than console will send a huge message to Capcom lmao

I think people are being a bit delicate here. GametimeUK clearly has a problem with some aspects of Capcom. He states that he will buy it for the 3DS and will skip it on the other consoles, which makes sense. Why own more than one copy? Remember that 1,000,000 sales is made up of whole lot of single purchases and a single pebble can start an avalanche.

He gives his reasons for this decision, so why disagree with him? We all validate our own decisions to suit ourselves. Mine is I have played and finished the game so I won't bother getting it again. I may change my mind if there's enough changes to it, but so far I don't think that's the case.

Personally, I would have preferred a new effort or a bundled HD set of the GameCube remakes... Failing that there's always hope with Virtual Console.

Resident Evil was never actually scary but it was great at building tense moments due to confined areas & limited resources all of which have all been flushed down the toilet by Crapcom.

well I don't have a 3ds so ill definately get this game
