Chillopedia | There are many genres in the world of gaming but if you really want to explore something scary as well as crazy, then the first thing that comes in mind is a ‘Zombie Game’.
What an utter list of shit! By the way, Dead Space isn't zombies, they're aliens.
By definition of "zombie", the Dead Space creatures are zombies, because they are pretty much dead human corpses, reanimated.
Quite a few games that shouldn't even be on that list and several games that should have... Like Dead Nation for example, easily one of my 3 all time favorite zombie games. Btw, House of the dead: overkill is the best out of the HOTD series... what's wrong with this dude?! Typing of the dead?!
Where is Killing Floor?
not on the list
The Walking Dead Survival Instinct - zombies Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse - zombies Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare - zombies Survival Crisis Z - zombies Call of Duty: Black Ops - zombies The Typing of the Dead - zombies Day Z - zombies Dead Space 2 - aliens Dead Island - zombies Plants vs. Zombies - zombies Zombies Ate My Neighbors - zombies Resident Evil 4 - zombies and the things Dead Rising 2 - zombies Resident Evil - zombies Left 4 Dead 2 - zombies and infected
The walking dead survival instinct made it on that "list" but telltales walking dead didn't!! lol what aload of rubbish,
Survival Instinct made your list? There are plenty of better zombie games.
"The Walking Dead Survival Instinct" I lol'd as soon as I saw it. "The Typing of the Dead" is listed but not House of The Dead?
horrible, horrible list. Like AnimeAvenger I lol'd at Walking Dead SI even making the list. Red Dead only made number 13?! and no Telltale, seriously? and Dead Rising 1 beats 2 everyday of the week
Games that actually deserved to be on that list (and be aware that this is just my own opinion here): Stubbs the Zombie RDR: Undead Nightmare DayZ Dead Rising 2 Resident Evil Zombies Ate My Neighbours PvZ L4D2 and RE4 are fantastic games but they're not zombies, same with Dead Space 2. Admittedly I haven't played Survival Crisis Z yet because every time I try it CTDs and so far no amount of reinstalling has changed this. Black Ops Zombies was interesting at first but got tedious almost as fast as the unbalanced MP and the increasingly noisy SP campaigns (not that I don't appreciate Treyarch at least trying to mix things up a little). Dead Island had an interesting premise but cocked far more up than it got right and I don't think I really need to say anything about Survival Instinct.
L4d not zombie buhhh?
I accept your list and 'm very pleased to see Stubbs in there but please, enlighten us with your argument on WHY L4D2 "isn't zombies"? One of us is crazy and I need to know it's not me.
How are L4D2, RE4, and Dead Space 2 not zombies?
Probably because some people classify zombies and infected as two different things.
How on earth can you call Resident Evil 4, Dead Space 2 and left 4 dead 2 non-zombie games?
In response to all who replied: I thought it was common knowledge that the virus in L4D1 and 2 was a highly mutated strain of rabies. It makes them crazy as hell, much akin to the infected from 28 Days Later, which is what they are: infected, not zombified. They've got an incredibly high pain threshold (or no threshold whatsoever because whatever's coursing through their veins is making them so pissed off they just don't care about physical agony any more) but they'll die from a few body shots easily enough. They're similar to be sure, but they're not really zombies. The Dead Space necromorphs, understandably, are called zombies by some and not by others. I can understand why some might call them zombies because necromorphs are essentially reanimated corpses twisted and mutated into horrors by an alien virus, so in essence they do in fact fit the criteria of 'zombified'. On why I DON'T think they're real zombies though; well I'm one of those types that thinks that zombies retain their original forms i.e. no mutations unless the corpse risen had that mutation when it expired. If you think otherwise then clearly you're more open minded than me when it comes to the undead. Finally we have Resident Evil 4 in which the enemies you fight are not the (un)freshly risen dead, but the victims of an ancient parasite that controls its hosts and with some serious capacity for body horror. Ergo, not zombies. EDIT: Ah, I seem to have misunderstood. I thought you were asking me why I don't think the primary enemy in the games I struck from the list in the article weren't zombies. I'm sorry for any consternation caused, in my mind if a game doesn't feature zombies then it's not really a zombie game. The article was titled 'Best Zombie Games', so when I made my earlier post I removed those games I believed weren't really zombie games as according to FrostyZipper. Apologies.
They forgot Burn Zombie Burn. Unacceptable.
the first resident evil should be on the first. the walking dead by telltales should be on it as well as resident evil 2.
Top 1 worst list ever.
That list immediately lost all credibility when you put Survival Instinct on there.
Survival Instinct was so disappointing...zombie games? Res5 forever!
how did dayz not rank above dead space which more of an alien game, dayz is more suspense imo opinion
Take out Walking Dead Survival Instinct and put in the House of the Dead by Sega. The Walking Dead game sucks or at least add the real Walking Dead game not the rushed crap.
This is really an article written by a troll
